Before buying this book I attempted the online practice test (and failed!) after going through the book it highlighted areas I needed to work on. The book also provides example questions which are very similar to the test questions. I would not have passed first time without this book.

'Salt and Vinegar', as this book has affectionately come to be know, has become something of a bible to a 3rd year med student. It has most of the information you'd need for the specialty rotations. When compared to the OHCM, however, improvements to the layout of some of the text needs improving. Also, the 'insights' given in this book- quotes from books, ethical tangents, are all too often not insightful at all. They're long and not always optional reading, as they're woven into the essential reading.

Yeah this is awesome. It can't be easy to make an instruction manual for an operating system interesting, but the author does it somehow. And the detail is great. I've been able to tell experienced MAC OS users a thing or two from having read this book. Recommended.

The clear pictures and easy to follow step by step guides were extremely helpful when it came to taking my C&G 2330 Level 3 practical exams. The section on completion of test certificates was particularly good, putting everything into plain language. I would recommend this book to any trainee electrician.

I don't think this book is not for anyone who is in the middle of a deep depression though it might help their family and friends to understand a bit of what is going on in their mind. Bu it and save it for when you start to feel a bit better. It also shouldn't just be used on its own but as an extra to the help your GP can give you. As someone who has suffered chronic depression throughout my adult life I have found this book invaluable. Not only has it helped me to understand what was/is happening to me but has been good to dip in and out of. There are practical exercises to do, it asks you some very difficult questions and you may find you pick it up and put it down a lot of times before you feel up to reading it but I think this is an excellent ... Not only is it bang up to date, it explains all aspects of reporting law clearly and succinctly. Unsure of what libel is? How to defend against it? Are you in contempt of court? Breaching the Official Secrets Act? Taking photographs of children? Invading somebody's privacy? McNae's knows. And it's written in a way to tell you quickly. It's known as The Bible in the regional newsrooms I've worked in all my life - and it's easy to see why when you read it.
