This book tell you all you need to know when starting out with the Nikon D40 in an easy and comprehensive way unlike the original confusingly laid out manual. Additionally this book give good photo taking techniques in a variety of situations. Nice!

What makes this book easy to use? Its user friendly, with clear easy to follow instructions. The colour pictures are of a good quality for each task in Elements. What you see in the book, you see on the monitor screen. Page layouts are consistent and the print clear. Getting started with Elements 6 couldn't be smoother. The book is basic and more advanced. For anyone new to Elements 6 or upgrading from older versions, this is the book to buy. Elements 6 is no longer the cut down version of Photoshop that it once was. Adobe have included more of the best features from their new Photoshop, without compromising the enjoyment of using Elements. My sister recommended Purple Hibiscus to me sometime last year. However, I was reluctant to read the book because I was not sure that it could live up to Half a Yellow Sun, Adichie's other book. In hindsight, I was right. The novel is narrated by Kambili Achike, the fifteen-year old daughter of a wealthy Nigerian businessman. The book begins with a description of her family life: Her wealthy father, Eugene Achike, whom she called Papa, had made good in life. He had numerous factories and a newspaper, which took an uncompromising stand on the corruption of the ruling elite. To cap it all, he was a philanthropist par excellence, supporting many causes. I have always been a lover of chick lit, Marian Keyes, Jane Green, love 'em all for a bit of light reading. So I've been eyeing the Sophie Kinsella books for a while and finally picked up 'Can You Keep a Secret?'...oh dear. Unfortunately I cannot keep the secret of how much I hated this book! Sadly I am the sort of person who cannot leave a book once I've started it and so I stayed until the bitter end. I have never written a negative review (I would simply stay silent) so I'm very sorry Ms Kinsella. However, I have had to suffer an entire book where the plotline is so painfully obvious and the heroine was such an utter moron that if I were to meet someone like that I would shake her by the shoulders and tell her to stop being such an idiotic ... This books contains some useful insights. Still, it is very clear that it is just meant to be a quick way of multiplying the sales channels of what the author has already said in other books; it comes so far as to partially consist of transcriptions of seminaries with much blabla and nothing that is not a repetition of what was already said. Also not pleasing is the constant self advertising of the author and promotion of his other books, internet sites etc. A bit would still go if made with class and decency, but in my eyes this was not the case here. All in all, I would not spend the money again for this book and do not consider it a good investment.

I recently had to read this as the basis for an essay, but was pleasantly surprised. It is an interesting snippet questioning our view of art and if it has changed throughout history. I found a few of the assumptions a little irritating, such as that Reubens would not have been aware of the device of depicting the human body in an anatomically incorrect pose in order to give the impression of movement. (Particularly as this is something that was well known among artists for hundreds of years and had been used by Leonardo da Vinci for example). However, if you are looking for a thought provoking, unusual look at how images have been used throughout history, give it a go. Have had every edition and I still carry a copy in my bag. Anyone doing acute takes who thinks they don't need to reflect on some aspects of some cases will come to grief. I am reassured when I see junior docs carrying a well worn copy.

This book was a fantastic find, as I thought i was lacking a little in general Science subject knowledge. This is by far the most thorough and descriptive book that includes everything you need to know about each individual topic and what each Key Stage needs to know. It gives questions to answer whilst reading down the margin, along with a self-assessment at the end of each chapter to check understanding. This book was very useful to me as a student, so I believe this will be the same to any student worrying about having a sufficient knowledge of the Science Curriculum. This is the 3rd edition, fully revised for the new 2007 Standards. WOW!

This is of corse the basis for modern evolutionary works ,that being so it's not quite acurate to todays knowlege so this book is more of a historical book.This particular book is of good quality and structure with detailed image of the different species used as examples.
