Its amazing this book was wrote in the forties. Its very modern and alot of what George Orwell wrote come true, very worrying. Maybe not his best work, still a classic though. Sixty years later and 1984 is still going strong. He has, in my opinion wrote better books but I would definitely recommend this book. Orwell's last masterpiece.

As the title says this is another fab book by Louise Rennison. Parts of this book had me in stitches. Cant wait to read the next one.

On the whole, the author has done a very good job of bringing together the plotlines from the previous books in the series. The ending is a little contrived, but that was to be expected. There are plenty of contrived sections and sub-plots in the previous books from the series - this is, after all, a fantasy for older children (adult readers often forget that), and it requires some leaps of faith to allow it to move on. It's not supposed to have a solid logical foundation. I can't understand the moans about the middle "camping" section, nor suggestions that the book is too dark or gruesome, certainly not for today's average teenager. Great book! Did I know this stuff before? Yes, some of it...have I been implementing it all...no! Now, that's down to a lack of time rather than inclination - but with Ferriss' book, you get to discover how to claw back that one unrepeatable commodity: time. And using his methodologies of as much automation and outsourcing as possible, it's quite easy to make the money you'll need to be able to put all that extra time to good use! I like Ferriss' style...and what I really appreciate is that he's given me the kick in the backside that I needed!

Takes to long to get to the subject (the siege)evidently a period of Roman history the author and his learned friends are well versed in. Having to refer to a very large glossary at the back of the book.Not for me. I will definitly not bother with part 2. Conn Iggulden need not look over his shoulder.

This is the best gardening book I have ever seen. I bought it as a gift for my parents but borrowed it so much I had to buy my own! And, who cares about the spelling!! (see Lord Manley review!)

Please, don't take any notice of the tripe you will read in these reviews about stupid humour. It is only in a half dozen intro pages and even then, it's not enough to worry about and stop you learning from these wonderful books. Buy this book, buy volume one too and a good highlighter pen, because you will learn an awful lot (unless you are a seasoned pro). The tips are quick, precise and have made my photography much better in the week it has taken me to read (and cover in highlighter!) both volumes. Volume two has a great section on studio work with simple and inexpensive equipment that is worth the cover price alone. Don't listen to the silly moans about his sense of humour, buy these and learn lots!

Couldn't put it down....excellent book. Can't wait for the further two in the trilogy to come out in paperback. Sad that the author died before the books were published. So we only get these three....savour them :o)

There are very many things that I love about this book. So far I've had it a very short time and have already had an incredibly therapeutic swim, about 10 miles from where I have lived for over 20 years, which I had no idea was there. It was the most beautiful spot and the pub recommended in the book was such a find, being friendly, serving good beer and food, having a gorgeous wildflower garden and being over a thousand years old. Having this book means I am much more likely to get out and swim in beautiful places, and not just paddle, worried about currents, debris and pond weed. So all those good intentions are finally coming good and I can entice friends along too. It's definitely going to be the basis of many UK holidays to come. I'm also impressed that the directions ... To reduce philosophy and literature to pieces of garbage is the main characteristic of our time, a dark age in belief. Absolute individualism, freedom, egocentricism are destroying the Western society have already show serious signs of all kinds of sickness. And this book and the phenomenon it created is nothing new, but really old: that people without direction but full of illusion have every reason to cheer about, when they see something like this to further draw their hearts to the darkness that refuses the light. I wonder how long this darkness and sickness will last.
