The second book 'castle' in the series is a improvement from the first, its starts to reveal the conspiracies that are happening in the castle, I won't say much but the adventure speeds up quite abit in this one.

I used this for my GCSE english and found it very useful. The layout is very easy to use and navigate and makes learning this novel much easier. It is set out neatly and I thought that it was really interesting. I found that if i used them in conjunction with my school notes I had pretty much all the information that I could possibly need. Over the years I know many people who have used this book and there has only been good reviews. I highly recommend it.

I remember when I first picked this up in my school library, having heard from others it was a good read. I didn't know at the time that it was to become one of my favourite books ever. By the time, I reached the end of it, tears were pouring like Niagra Falls (James Blunt on the radio didn't help either). No book had ever made me cry before as much as Noughts and Crosses and I believe that Malorie Blackman was trying to tell us all that, if it were the other way around for black and white people (reversal of roles) would it really be any different than it is now? I love this book and all the other ones in this series because the illustrations are so great, very sweet, but incredibly bright and colourful at the same time, they really catch my babies' attention. They are also hardcover which is great for younger children because they cant tear (or eat) the pages and they can start to try and turn the pages themselves rather than have to sit there and be good in case the book gets all torn!

Firstly I'd like to say that I have studied Mandarin before and I bought this because I have recently started studying again, so a lot of what is covered in the earlier stages of this book I already knew. However that takes nothing away from this book, for a complete beginner this book is worth twice what you pay for it! The way it's laid out is good, the illustrations make it fun to read, it gives you characters and PinYin from the start which is essential, the CD is useful and the topics covered are also great for building your "Chinese Language Foundations".
