Why cant Conn Iggulden write any faster? Have to say, another triumph. I love the way he writes, you feel like you are part of the whole journey. It's clever as well, because the heroes aren't heroes, there just as nasty as the bad guys, however they are your bad guys! Going to be depressed again now waiting ages for his next one :-(

This is a superb trilogy, very readable and probably more appealing to a male readership, with the leading characters being predominantly male and a lot of the story being about battles and "The Great Conqueror". I started to read them having watched the film 'Mongol' and I strongly recommend the film to anyone who is enjoying these books. Highly recommended.

I reallly enjoyed this book, like all of the series but i was shocked how they seem to have skipped the other books into making them into audio books i was really looking forward to listening to Maximum Secruity but it seems they have decided to only realese the new books not the old ones.

I think my title says it all, this episode 5 of Chronicles of Ancient Darkness is classic for 21st Century. At present pricing, the six disc set at less then £10 delivered, is very good value. Unlike other Audio CDs the packaging is well made and lends itself to repetative listening. The story is very well read with full character voices. I must say this story is getting quite 'dark' now, so some Parents may wish to sample it first. That said, I believe Adults and children will really enjoy it. Enjoy!

This is a classic story for children, set in the 50's, it is about time, memory and friendship.
Tom, lonely and isolated as he is in quarantine, finds his way back in time, at night (when the hall clock strikes 13), to a wonderful old garden and a little girl called Hattie, who, to his curiosity, is dressed in old fashioned clothes. The two lonely children become friends and I don't want to give away the beautifully devoloped plot, but Tom slowly realises that Hattie is growing up, while he remains the same age.
The atmosphere of the story is both mysterious and engaging, as Tom slowly works out where he is and who Hattie really is.
The end of the story takes in the biblical idea of time coming to and end, or the modern notion of not ... Read More:

Dont get me wrong its a great book, LOOK I gave it 5 stars. But I was expecting it tob be like Alex Rider of Jason Steed. After Ravens Gate I thought it would be better.
Its still a great novel and I recommend it although not for under 14.

Everyone who has read the Harry Potter series knows how fun, interesting and addictive it is to read, so the seventh book is essential for those who have dabbled in the others. Possibly the most engaging book of them all, this last edition takes a different style into what would be Harry's final year at Hogwarts. The sixth book was said to be dark but it is in the seventh that great change happens. The plot deepends enormously as do the characters, who have grown up so much since their first days. J.K. Rowling is a gift to children and adults alike. Conclusion: essential reading if you have read the others, although really that goes without saying!

18.Requiem (Brethren Trilogy 3) by: Robyn Young

Books : Requiem (Brethren Trilogy 3)
I was bursting waiting for this to be released having read the first two books and absolutely loved them. This was a period in history which was not covered in depth at school, and it was totally fascinating to discover more about what actually went on, when it is often purely portrayed as romantic and heroic, and ignores the brutality and sacrifice which was always present. In Will Campbell, Ms Young has created a character that you love but sometimes want to slap to break him out of his stubborn streak, but this partly makes the reader not want to put the book down and can't wait to see what happens next. He has more adventures and near death scrapes than all the James Bond put together, but you go with the flow being so wrapped up in his story. Agree with previous ... Read More:

This book is fast paced action and it delivers. If you're expecting an exceptional use of the english language then prepare to be disappointed. It is a fun and delicious fantasy story that combines many different elements the young girl on a quest, the oddball hero and the battle between good and evil, all used to great effect. It is not a pretentious book but a simple read no word weaving only action. But read this before bed and be prepared to have a smile on your face. I was left wishing I was Valkyrie Cain and I wanted to be 10 again so I could reenact some of the fight scenes without looking too silly.

This (the first in the series), or any other Harry Potter book for that matter, needs no introduction. Once you've followed Harry to Hogworts and back during his first term, you'll be coming back for more time and time again! Its one of those books which you wish will never end - its that magical. Say what you will about J K Rowling (and lots of people do!), but theres no denying she does write exceedingly good books!
