I bought a similar book, in order to get practicing for some numerical tests and I wasn't getting anywhere. As a result I bought this book and I went through three chapters in 2 hours and felt confident my newly acquired knowledge was there to stay. Very easy to understand, well explained. It provides worked out examples and gives explaination along the way. Brilliant for those who have done maths at school and haven't practiced maths since. I would recommend it to anyone.

Well, i HAVE read this book and in fact have just bought my second copy, the first went missing after lending it to a scottish friend! I think all of Terry Pratchetts books, childrens or older, are brilliant and this definately does not dissapoint. Set on the discworld with some reference to previous characters this book will leave you desperate to buy the two others in the series and you will no doubt find yourself reading them again and again. So buy it now and laugh your socks off!

As a general GCSE history help guide this book is no better than OK. However, it is certainly not a 'Complete Revision'. Whilst I'd agree it would help lower level students as it sets out information in an easy to understand, simplistic format, I don't feel it covers the various topics with sufficient detail to accommodate the higher level student. For example the suggested answers given in order to attain level 4, in my opinion, are not of adequate depth. If I was marking these answers they would not be acceptable to reach the highest level. By all means use this book as a guide but students will need to fill in the many gaps from other resource material.

This is the first book I ever read, so I always look back on this book with a certian ammount of nostalgia. Nostalgia aside, I found that this is a very packed book for less than 200 pages. I find it hard to disemminate the plot without at least one spoiler, so I'll let you read the book. Snibril is the character to whom most of the action happens to, and his development is supurb. and as for Pismere, when you find out why he was kicked out of the dumi empire, you will laugh out loud. I feel that this is one of Pratchetts greatest achievments. It is worth a read to Pratchett fans in order to see him at his best, and to anyone else, just so that you can see a well writen book that is action packed, but still short ... Read More:

i bought this book because when i was at junior school (yr 6) my teacher read this to the class, and i was encased in the story from then on, this is a brilliant story even if after you read it you're not quite sure what it was about. it isn't a very long book so it's perfect to read to your kids (those that don't scare easy) i am now 17 and still look on this book with fond memories.

I'm teaching the Twenty First Century Science course for the first time this year and have been studying this text book in conjunction with the OCR syllabus in preparation. Firstly the background: this course has attracted a good deal of criticism for being "media led" rather than science led - in other words the issues are discussed before the science when it is far, far better, for the sake of simple understanding in my experience, to put them the other way around. And now the book: this text book (rightly or wrongly) takes the same approach as the course. Issues are discussed and then the science introduced as the issues are explored. The practice book is an excellent revision tool. However, my copy did not come with the accompanying answer booklet, which was annoying. I sent a couple of emails to Amazon. Amazon after looking into the problem quickly closed the matter with the statement that their supplier had not supplied them with the answer booklets. As a revision book there is no point in doing the work, unless the answers can be checked to ensure that the student is working correctly. After emailing the publisher I received the answer booklet free of charge. I hope the publisher, in future, ensures that Amazon have the complete set of books. This book is a Puffin Classic. The children in this book are the same ones in `the Five Children and It' & `The Amulet'. Their names are Robert, Anthea, Jane, Cyril and baby Hilary, or as called in `the Five Children and It' - Lamb. If you don't know the story or have forgotten it, then I will jog your memory: It is about a second hand carpet that was bought for the nursery which had magical powers; it could transport them to wherever they wanted to go; also, a strange egg dropped out of it and it was the egg of a phoenix... I thought that this book was ok. It was a bit boring at parts but some of the bits were more thrilling than going to the circus or even to Alton Towers! I would rate the book, overall, 8/ 10 and would recommend it to all!

This book is quite light-hearted, and as another review says, probably contains everything you need to pass- get a C grade. It doesn't, however, contain the information i would personally say you need for the A*-B Therefore is better for foundation. I have now bought the York Notes revision book, which is much better for higher grades!!!
