Wow this book really is great! It lists all the poems and annotates them with critical information you can use for your aqa a english language essays telling you all the key themes, feelings and attitudes towards the poem and lanuage used. Then if thats not enough it gives you sample essays by top class students on titles that regualarly come up in the exams. At the end of the book it gives you the common themes of all the poems allowing you to compare each poem in the essay. If your teacher doesnt know their stuff or your struggling to remember the class work this will explain each poem and help you get a good grade in your gcse. "I very much doubt i would have passed my gcse without it." I really recommend you buy it!

This book is an excellent introduction to what can be a dense and complex play. It starts with a simple plot outline. It then progresses to more in depth analysis of the play scene by scene. After which it lays out some key themes, symbols and ideas in the play in the forms of mini essays. It has a fairly good glossary, a potted history of Shakespeare himself and how his plays would have appeared. It also has a good time line and chronology, a glossary of common theatrical and critical terms and a good recommended reading list. It is very useful indeed.

For when I don't understand a topic, the CGP book saves the day. Fantastic! Clear, consise points, partnered with clear and colourful diagrams. The book also has some amusing points in it to make you smile :)

This is probably the best GCSE revision guide available - it is compact enough to be used as a revision aid, yet it is sufficiently comprehensive to enable students to use it throughout the course and to revise the higher level vocab and phrases needed to get the top grades. There is excellent and extensive use of underlining and highlighting of key points throughout and at the end of each revision section there is also a very useful and thorough test page to see if you are ready to move on to the next. My only quibble, and it's not a small one, is that the lists of vocabulary are joined too closely together i.e not alligned and spaced out as should be standard in these revision guides. This has become one of my favourite books. I've always loved the "witches" series and the "nac mac feegle" who appear in Carpe Jugulum invaded my brain, kicked a few bottles around and dossed down. This is, as others have said, the third in the "Tiffany Aching" series. I admit I enjoyed the first, wasn't too struck with the second (to start with), but with this one Pratchett is back to his best. It hooked me from the start. Pratchett's talent and skill is in the folklore and the facts which he uses in the books, the little things, like the old belief in summer and winter Gods, the laying out and sitting with the dead, etc. For me it is these small factual titbits that add to the story and make it more than your typical ... This is just about the worst book I have ever read. The characters to me were about as lifless as rag dolls, The story line is about the most feeble out of any book I have ever read and over all I think it was very badly written and not worth purchasing.

I was a late convert to the world of Buffy. Like many I had watched it as a teenager, enjoyed it, and then been persuaded by who knows who, that it was not something one should be proud of watching. Then I watched Serenity and thought it was great, backtracked to firefly and loved that too. Then one day somebody told me that the same guy that did those, did buffy. "WHAT!" I said, "That cant be!", half clouded by the fact that everybody said that Buffy was rubbish, half trying to cover up my embarrassment of not making this ling earlier. I thought that it was great that Jacqueline Wilson tackled disability issues however the story was very short especially the ending where all the revelation happens. The story should have been extended so that we could have seen what else happened. It is such a short story that it can be read in like an hour. This book is suitable for junior children and young teenagers.

I've been getting really worried about my gcse maths revision, and I've been all set to fail, but this book is heaven sent!It's got explanations of everything you'll need, notes, questions, multiple choice options and answers. The only negative I can think of is that it isn't colourful like some, but when it comes to maths it's practice that makes perfect, and you get every chance to do that with this book!The proof will be in the pudding when I sit my exam in a few weeks, but I already feel confident that it's all gonna be....just fine! A definate must have on my revision shelf!
