This revision guide summarises clearly and concisely all the science you need up to and including Year 9, with sections on Life Processes, Materials and Physical Processes. And it's great for learning because it explains everything in an entertaining and accessible format (check out the cold polar bear and the elephant in stilettos!). Our children have worked steadily through it preparing for exams, and the pages are getting dog-eared.

Conclusion: a comprehensive and well-written guide to KS3 Science. Wish we'd had books like this when I was at school.

It's always difficult to review a book, as that which you may have loved, may not be someone elses cup of tea.
This book is no exception to this rule. You may like it, love it, hate it, think it's a load of rubbish, or not have any opinion on it what-so-ever. Because taste in reading matter differs strikingly from person to person, I rarely write reviews for them, but "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" had to be an exception.

It is, no question, one of my all-time favourite books, and I have bought many copies, giving them as presents for people who I know would enjoy it as I have.
If you read the synopsis and are still undecided, I'd go for it. Originally, I picked it up in a bookshop one day because the cover attracted ... Read More:

This book is so easy to understand. I'm awful at grammar but this breaks it down into small chunks. The activities are amaazing and definately help develop your understanding.
I don't think I could have passed my English A level without this books help. I can't recommend it enough!!

Although I generally enjoyed the trilogy there was a steady decline as you read each book. Whereas the first book is excellent the reader may get sidetracked by Pullman's strong atheist views which start to get on your nerves. I feel he should have concentrated more on the story rather than his viewpoint. Saying that there are some nice parts in this last book and the ending is a good one for the trilogy.

I am assuming that the review below, copied from the `Comments' area of this item, was the original review that the other two reviews refer to - so well done to all who got it deleted from the system.
I couldn't agree more with these two reviews on this item - this is a blank baby book for parents to fill in, with photos and text, as their baby develops over those precious first 12 months.
What does puzzle me is the fact that it got a positive vote in the first place - unless the author is also guilty of voting for his own reviews which is quite possible given how his `helpful' votes whizz up - you only need to look back at the review pages to see how obtuse the subjects are and how suspicious the voting is, especially on items that have other reviews ... I knew I was going to enjoy the book because I love Jacqueline Wilsons. I don't like Chloe because she is mean, but I like Daisy because she is nice to her friends. It is a little bit sad in places but also happy. It was very exciting. Amy and Daisy are best friends and Chloe and Emily are best friends but not for long. The book would be suitable for girls 7+. It is the best book to read. The story takes place at a school and at people's houses. The author good language like so-o-o-o-o and wonderful

He finds a window which leads to a different world where for the first time he meets Lyra. Lyra has also come from another world but not from Will's world. She has come from a world where people have deamons. Lyra and Will have to work together to find Roger, Lyra's friend, and Will's father who has mysteriously disappeared.
