This book is a complete classic that will delight children from a very early age. We started with this book when our son was about eight months old and he has enjoyed it ever since. Each page has an animal hidden behind card doors and toddlers simply love opening the doors to reveal the animal behind. Once again these animals give scope for further fun with parents doing the sounds of the animals, which in time children will copy. We found that when we did the animal sounds our little boy would carefully study what sounds we made, leading to our total delight one day when we heard the sound of a dog coming from our little boy. My 18-month old twin nephews received this book for Christmas. On the strength of 'Diggers' we also purchased 'Farms' and 'Trucks' for my daughter. The books are beautifully illustrated, especially the scenes behind the 'lift the flaps'. The hard books are also sturdy enough for corners to be chewed. The flaps are also easy for small fingers to lift and there is plenty of action happening on each page to keep little ones engaged. I was concerned the trucks, diggers and trains theme might be too 'boy' biased, but my little girl loves them! A highly recommended purchase.

My 2 year old loves this book especially as he can interact do the different noises on each page. We're now on our second copy as the original was so tatty and even his carer in nursery is finding it difficult to get him to read a different book in quite time.

A wonderful and fun introduction to counting for younger children. Done in typical Dr Seuss style - short rhymes, colourful pictures and the added element of a lift flap will make it a favourite. Since I came across this new series about a month ago, my 3yr old has become really interested in these books and wants to read them every day - usually more than once!!

This is a great book, my daughter has loved it from a very young age. When our second paperback copy bit the dust I thought I would order the board book for hopefully a little more longevity. HOWEVER! It isn't the same book, nearly, but at the end there is a TEACHER instead of a MONKEY!! My daughter is not happy, and is searching for the Monkey in vain. As my darling daughter says "Where's Monkey gone?". I'm off to buy another paperback version. Great book, but loses 3 stars for an absentee Monkey!

It's a cute baby book but if you go to Mother&Baby groups you might know the signs anyway. My problem was that I had to look up some of the signs online as there weren't any written instructions.

A wonderful read aloud for 1 and 2 year olds. Lovely illustrations and nice story but just doesn't quite have the pazzazz of the gruffalo and her other books (we own the lot). Too basic for my four year old but my one year old really enjoys it.
