It is a true story about her childhood with her Ma, Pa and her sister Mary. My favourite character is Pa because of his strong will to finish something and his positive attitude towards everything. It is about Christmas with her family, cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles. They move from one area to another in the Big Woods. Pa built the house for them to live in with some help. It is filled with happiness and joy and sorrow and excitement and anger. It was exciting when a wolf nearly got Mary one time while Pa was out. It is a true story of her life which was so wonderful. It felt like a diary. 7 - 13 year olds would like this book. I would rate it 100/ 10 because it was so fantastic.

This is a beautiful childrens books. A very simple story with beautiful, heart-warming illustrations. What is particularly nice about this book is that the love is being expressed between 2 male hares. It is never explained whether they are two brothers, father and son, uncle nephew or just dependent friends. For me, this shows that love transcends boy-girl, parent-child relationships... but instead illustrates that when love "is" it just "is". It doesn't need to be explained or to be measured by other people's values.... unconditional, beautiful love is just that... beautiful!!

This classic among children's books tells the story of how Dorothy and her dog Toto find their way back to Kansas from a distant, unknown land. It is truly delightful from beginning to end and will surely be loved and enjoyed by readers of all ages, not just children. The story is told in a simple, yet beautiful way and will grip the reader to the last page with Dorothy and Toto's wild adventures. In this book, the Ingalls meets some Native Indians, Mr Edwards and Mrs Scott. The whole family catch `Fever n' 'angue' which now is called Malaria. While Pa is out, some Indians come and take tobacco and some food. They do this a second time while Pa is out about a few months after. At the end, Laura and her family leave again searching for a new home in Minnesota. This book is so imaginative that it feels like a fiction where you are experiencing everything. I really enjoyed `The Little House in the Prairie' and I think this book is really good. I really recommend it to everyone who reads this review. I rate this book 9/ 10.

As a classically-educated semi-retired non-teacher, with a strong interest in education, I have been teaching Minimus over the last six months to a smallish class of 5th and 6th year boys and girls in a local Primary School. They have thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly with the wide variety of aspects(from historical to culinary) at which the course pointed; and the charm of the Minimus text has made it a pleasant as well as interesting task to teach. It has also provided the children with a fun opportunity to perform a play in Latin (they used scripts - Latin by heart would have been a step too far), to explore Latin roots in the English Language, and even to have a look at an easier Winnie ille Pu passage. This griping book by Enid Blyton is yet another excellent story for anyone who enjoys a good adventure. The story features four children; Philip,Jack,Lucy-Ann,Dinah and a comical talking parrot Kiki. In the first story The Island of Adventure the four children are saying at Philip and Dinah's home for the holidays when they fall into an amazing adventure on the mysterious Isle of Gloom. In The Castle of Aventure the four children are excited by an old castle on the hill but they are no longer excited by it when they fall yet again into a scary and thrilling adventure. I have read both stories and many more by Enid Blyton and strongly recomend the book.

I am so excited that I have now rediscovered this book after so many years wondering if I had dreamt it up as a very young boy. I must have been 7 or 8 when I picked it up from the local library & was the first of few books I have ever read compulsively. This story of little people travelling along streams & encountering nature & wildlife & danger & adventures is one of the most captivating & enchanting books I have read. Even the little illustrations by the author mesmerized me. The story & images have remained in my memory & imagination for over 34 years. A must for every parent and child. A classic. Forget Potter, when is this going to be made into a movie?

have you read any of the borrower stories and enjoyed them? If so you should read this and if you haven't you should read this - don't miss out on reading the original six borrower stories - all in one volume. Brilliant! You could also see the film. The borrowers own nothing at all - they borrow everything from humans, the humans don't even know they exist. Arrietty makes friends with one - danger is always close and they have to go by the borrowers code " You must never be seen my a human bean" this is a brilliant book that has been enjoyed by generations of readers - now it is your turn to do so to. This audio CD book, alongside with other Naxos educational CDs for children, is absolutely fantastic. It contains loads of information, so adults interest is guaranteed as well as children's fascination. It's a must for curious little minds. Presented in an easy listening format, it educates and enterntains at the same time. Boring car journeys became a highly enjoyable and educational experiences in our family since Naxos CDs were purchased. Being non-fiction, they can be listened to over and over again, offering a chance for the child to remember and/or understand more details each time.

This audiobook is a great recording of Eleanor H. Porter's book and a a good price at Amazon. If you like classic stories like Heidi, A Little Princess, The Secret Garden and Five Children and It this is for you if you watched the Disney film or read the book you'll know the story. What else can I say buy this audiobook and enjoy.
