I felt this was the poorest of all the comics I've read in the ultimate collection. The biggest problem was the lack of any real story arc. Despite all the action, very little actually happens. Granted there are some major developments for the next Ultimate X-men saga but these could have probably been added to one comic rather than strectched over 4 issues. Having read some of the other reviews, I was looking forward to reading this one as I thought it would be interesting to see The X-men battle the Avengers. I was expecting great set-pieces with Wolverine battling Captain America but the scenes don't last very long and on a number of occassions, particularly at the start, I was left confused as to what was going on in the pictures. Obelix drinks the magic potion, and turns into stone. The druid tries to make an antidote, which instead turns Obelix into a child. He then has to go to Atlantis in hope of finding a cure. Meanwhile, a ship full of mutineers visit the village. This is one of the newest Asterix adventures. Uderzo has created some pretty good adventures even after Goschinny's death, and here is another interesting premise and it almost works. It's entertaining, but the resolution is something of a letdown. Recommended for fans. New Asterix readers might want to start with another book.

I started reading C&H from this one and now have the complete collection. I rank this one at the top, (alongside the tenth ann collection). Another reason is that it contains some of the poetry work by Watterson. I am a fan of his poetry too. Sounds similar to my own...

This is a good value package of Buffy comics, all are competantly written at worst and excellent at best. The art is a mixed bag also but it is rarely bad. All stories here are set before the first TV series, included an adaptation of the Buffy movie making it more in keeping with the TV show. The stories manage not to be too continuity breaking, and then very minor.
