Five large, good quality Mog books in a hardback box, including a story CD; for an extremely good price. What a wonderful present idea for boy or girl, age range 4-7, although my 8 year old also enjoyed reading them with her younger brother. The CD was a bonus. Nicely illustrated books including an ABC story that is very amusing with lots of alphabet themed sentences. Very good buy for the book shelf.

I came across Katie Morag and her family at our local library when choosing books with my then 3 year old daughter. Since then her world has become part of ours and we now have a vast collection of stories about life on Struay. This book contains four stories which are easily understood by younger childen as well as the 5-7 year old age bracket they appear to be aimed at. Children will love how Katie Morag is deliciously naughty and adults can laugh at the tongue in cheek humour which the author displays well in Grannie Island and Grannie Mainland's underlying rivalry. Although the main character is female, boys as well would be able to relate to her, as she is a bit of a tomboy and the series of books also includes her "big boy cousins" ... Read More:

My son 4 year old adores looking at this book whilst listening to the Prokoviev suite on CD. It is very true to the original, and the subtle pictures of the musical instruments throughout give clues as to which is playing. (We also love Ian Beck's illustrated edition of Edward Lear's The Jumblies).

My 5 year old received this for his birthday from a friend, each book describes a kind of vehicle, its constituent parts and what it is used for - We learned a LOT from this set of little books, about submarines, rockets, diggers, trains, tractors, etc. Great value for what you get. I'm thinking of buying copies for his friends for their birthdays.

I had this book when I was little and I loved it. Seeing it for sale over 25 years later brought back happy memories. I ordered 2 copies at Christmas for my nieces. On delivery I was very disappointed. The book was a lot thinner than the original and with a lot more American words in it. I don't remember the original having a lot of American spelling in it. It could be very confusing for children trying to learn English words and spellings for things. I was so disappointed I sent them both back! You can pick up better word books on the High Street. Somethings from childhood are better left there!

This is just a fantastic book! I remember reading it when I was a little girl and now find myself reading it to the children in my class. A great book to encourage healthy eating - and also as a bit of fun for the children (and you!) Would highly recommend.

I find this book to be a really good introduction to the concept of adoption and why children are adopted. It may not be deep enough for an adopted child, but is ideal as a starting point, or as an introduction to friends and familys' children who are about to have adopted cousins or friends enter their lives. It explains well but without some of the neglect or abuse angles which children from care have experienced, and which some friends and family might feel nervous about revealing to their children. Ideal for age 4-8 or 9.

This is a lovely book with beautiful illustrations. We bought it to try and remind ourselves of old fashioned rhymes that we knew from childhood. Whilst some are there, I only realised after purchase that this is an American book so a great deal of fairly standard rhymes for a UK audience are missing, so I would caution purchase of this book.

I bought my baby (11 months old at the time) these flashcards and i can't rate them enough. My Daughter loves the pictures and the touchy feeley bit on each one. Now 12 months old and a week, she knows the name of everyone of the 16 cards. My game has been (and i recommend it for all babies and younger children) is to show and talk about 3 cards at a time. After a few minutes lay those 3 cards out on the floor and ask them pick up a certain card. After a few weeks you will be amazed at what words they know. Yes some of the cards are a bit strange for first words however they are great fun and a fab game. My only complaint is that after a month of the sticky jam card being handled, the stickey bit is not stickey anymore :-(

My daughter absolutely loved this book! A really useful way to help prepare small children for nursey school and a lovely, relatable story with gorgeous pics.
