Unfortunately this is the only proper textbook for GCSE Astronomy, and its pretty disappointing to say the least. As a beginner, I find the explanations often unclear and confusing. It takes a while to get used to PM's style of writing, of which, you'll either love or hate. The diagrams are good, but everything including the photos, is in b & w. The layout could be improved, for example, with subheadings so you don't end up scanning the whole chapter for an explanation. All in all, a disappointing book and not recommended for beginners.

Specifically for GCSE Double Award Science, the book is split into twelve sections: sections 1-4 for Biology, 5-8 for Chemistry and 9-12 for Physics. All information is set out in a clear and ordered way with warm-up and exam questions at the end of every short topic (every few pages) and end of section tests. Pages are clear and colourful and key words are highlighted. I would recommend this book to any taking GCSE Double Award Science.

Angela Wilkes is a God! No matter how hard I have tried I have never been able to get my children into cooking - until this book came along. Its quality is in its unique simpilicity. The writing is clear and easy to comprehend and the colourful photographs make everything even easier to understand. I would recommend this masterpiece to anyone who likes cooking, young or old. Thank you Angela.

I reccomend this for 3-16 year olds.
