I ordered this book on the recommendation of Amazon and the above favourable reviews. If I had seen the book in a proper retail store I would never have bought it. Grecco is a mediocre photographer whose style I would not want to emulate. The shots are often different - but not in a positive way. He may have shared his secrets in the way the previous posters have suggested - but the secrets of someone not very good at his craft are hardly worth sharing. A bad buy. A must-buy book for all those interested in chemistry at A level. Excellently presented, with good use of colour, and superb detail brings life to the subject. Very good selection of exam practice questions (not all answers are included). Makes the transition from GCSE easy. A book to be read through rather than dipped into, and which focuses on understanding concepts and ideas rather than just learning facts.

This book has changed the way that I teach singing. It contains songs that the children love, that are easy to learn, with catchy tunes and easily memorised lyrics. Lots of actions and games that have even the most reluctant youngsters joining in with enthusiasm. Since I bought a copy the book has been constantly in use by colleagues, and the CD makes it possible for the non-pianist / non-musician to teach the songs effectively. The childen are now always singing the songs, and I've had several of the parents asking me where they can get the music and CD as their children are so enthusiastic and want to do them at home also. I first borrowed this from the library and then I had to buy it because my 1.5 year old loved it so much! The illustrations are so friendly and colourful. It is a good book for children to develop memory skills as well as learning vocabulary. One of the best features is, however, the durability of the book. The pages and the flaps are cardboard, so little fingers can easily open and turn pages without destroying the book.

This book is HUGE...but, hey, it's a HUGE subject! I thoroughly enjoyed this book, clear, concise text and amazing pictures. Great value for money and an absolute must for any would-be astronomer. Now I'm off to Ikea to buy a bigger book shelf.....

I found this book to be really helpful.It starts each topic with interesting,real life situations and explains the work clearly.Good diagrams and photos too.The key facts summaries really useful and the questions (with answers at the back!) check that you understand.I like the way it has application sections that put the stuff in the chapter into a different situation
