While working my way through this book, I found it very easy to use, it showed me exactly what I needed to do and it was very easy to follow. This book showed me the basics of using a guitar and it has made me feel more confident. I have not put this book down since I have recieved it and it definatly does help, so if you wanna learn, it is'nt too late like I thought it might be. Buy it and you'll be suprised!

I bought this recently for a 9 year old who has just started riding and I think it is perfect for a beginner to intermediate rider.There is a lot of information here such as caring for a horse, many different ways to ride and trouble shooting problems. I rode for 3 years and I'm learning from it and ordered another copy for my own daughter. I think it's small size is a bonus as you could/should take it riding with you.

My five year old daughter has been using this and the next book in the series to learn piano and it's been so enjoyable and painless! The book introduces a note at a time with fun quizzes, practice pieces and well known tunes. It's beautifully illustrated and so well written with simple, easy to follow explanations. Even as a musical dunce I was able to guide her through the book and even started learning the piano myself. Wish it had been like this when I was at school! Children learn to sight read music and play music from page one. I couldn't recommend this and it's companion book (More Tunes for Ten Fingers) strongly enough!

The book is valuable for two reasons, firstly it is interesting to compare how TinTin developed over the years, and secoundly for anyone with an interest in Soviet history, how the orginal stories in Le Soir (belgium newspaper)in the 1930's and the book, were and still are, portrayed by some as mere anti communist propoganda. It is chilling that despite millions of people being murdered in Gulags or shot out of hand, that the book which falls short of showing the full horrors of lenin and Stalin regimes are still derided in this way. Anyway once again a good book, but for some the biggest critism is that boy dectective might have got too close to the real world in his first outing.
