Not as impressive as "Duck in the truck" or "captain duck" but still one of the better childrens books around. I thought this book was alot simplier than the other "duck" books, my daughter can get more involved by lifting the flaps. A great little read, that you'll end up reading hundreds of times.

Our little girl loves this book, and so do we - especially the page where squirrel has off-loaded the basket of washing on to rabbit. Rabbit's frown is priceless...

I bought this book for myself nine years ago, but it was purloined by my daughter who proclaims that it's her favourite book. My daughter is twenty seven years old! She can't wait to have children of her own so that she can share it with them.

I read this version of the story to a class of year 2 children (aged 6-7 years) and they were enthralled! The rhyming text is brilliant and the flaps add so much to the story. A great book.

I great book - my one year old reads it every night before bed. She loves lifting the flaps and recognising the different characters. It's also a really good length for her age, not too long (so doesn't get boring), but has a proper story she can follow (so better than basic board books). And a great rhyming text. Rabbit has a range of facial expressions, which is rare for childrens characters. And the animals are not just the predictable dog and cat (there's a fox and tortoise too!) I'm sure we'll still be reading this one this time next year!

This is larger than most of Rod Campbell's other toddler books. It is A4 format and the pages are strong paper/thin card rather than the substantial board in most of his other books.For this reason alone it is not ideal for the youngest of children (I was happy for my children to have board books from about 9 months old). My 19 month old daughter is currently enjoying this book without causing major damage to it. The content of the book isn't bad at all. There is a fair variety of well-known nursery rhymes, odd snatches of Campbell's own rhyming couplets, hide and seek games with the animals and simple descriptions of the pictures and their flaps. This is a smashing bold pop-up book with big brightly coloured dinosaurs from the most popular dinosaur species, e.g. diplodocus and triceratops, springing out every time you turn the page. The text is good rhyming verse and the illustrations have appealingly clear lines and show friendly dinosaurs. My two-year old son found it in a bookshop and thought it was the best ever.
