Lovely relaxing CD. But, title misleading, is in no way a meditation CD. But, still a nice calm CD to have.

This was an excellent album and a great starting point for anyone who isn't famililar with Watson. The mix of music was excellent. It is a "Greatest Hits" album so obviously there is going to be songs from previous Watson albums (in relation to the value for money comment below). Barcelona is a wonderful song on this album and really tests Watson's upper register well. One criticism, I have a BIG problem with the way in which Russell changes into a "pop"/contemporary type voice for a few of the songs. This seriously reduces his credibilty as a serious tenor and I (along with many other critics) would advise him to stick to the classical/tenor voice and avoid that cheap/tacky boyband voice he forces in some songs. Beautiful and haunting vocals. Always a pleasure to listen to this uplifting CD. Recommended.

If you have never listened to minimalist music this should be your point of departure. I have played this CD to the unsuspecting, as background music, and in the process won over the even the most ardent sceptics.

Classic Zimmer and some. Listen carefully and you hear strains of The Da Vinci Code and Gladiator filtering through. Not a critisism, it's just his style. You'll also here the influences of other classical composers coming through, not unusual. While parlay is a delightful homage to Morricone's scoring to the classic duel in 'Once Upon a Time in the West'. Makes me smile everytime I hear it, and wish it were longer.

I approached this CD with caution given the hype that has surrounded recent appearances of both singers. I must confess that contrary to my expectations I was deeply moved by the singing here which recalls other great operatic couples of the past, Callas and di Stefano, Tebaldi and del Monaco. The recording has rarely been far from my CD player for the past two weeks. As with the legendary couples from the past, there is something uneven about the two voices. Netrebko's voice is not a warm voice but is beautifully focused, always on the note and has to my ears a dark unjuicy quality. It is a stunning voice. Villazon, by contrast, has a voice that could hardly be described as beautiful the way that Corelli's, Pavarotti's or Domingo's undoubtedly ... Read More:

They have bite, wit, character, fire and - just below the surface - sometimes profound meaning. These are no "ordinary" comic songs. Neither is Swann's accompaniment at the piano ordinary. Weddings often bring out the best in music, and this `Classic FM Music For Weddings' certainly reflects the type of music being played at today's happy occasions. It has though been superseded by the 2CD Classic FM `Weddings 2008' which not only gives a little more choice but more importantly divides the music into two categories - religious weddings and church weddings, for it is easy to forget that sacred music (loosely termed as that which was written for the church or a religious occasion) is not allowed to be played at civic weddings while the registrar is present. Andrea Bocelli simply has one of the most beautiful voices in the world. Amore is a collection of fine love songs, which Bocelli sings absolutely beautifully. These tracks are really suited to his style - they just sound so rich and you can really feel the emotion in his voice. The production on this album is equally great and Amore really is one of the most beautiful albums of the year.
