I liked most of the film, loved the zombies/infected people and thought it was going well with quite a bit of action but then it came to the end and (I won't ruin it) it was quite dissaponting, I felt as if it was just quickly put together as they couldn't decide what to do. Also it was wayyyy too short, by the time I got really into it and knew exactly what was happening it was practically over. Dont get me wrong its a good film, but the end was a bit of a let down and it was short.

This film is 'I Am Legend' in name only, it bears very little relation to the book of the same name. This aside, it is a fairly good movie with post apocalyptic themes and a storyline that will keep you interested for the 96 minutes duration. Will Smith plays the role of the relationship starved army medical researcher well. You really feel for him when he talks to mannequins and at his relationship with his dog. The action is pretty good, although the computer graphics left a lot to be desired, both the various animals and the 'dark seekers' seemed very dated compared to other computer graphics films. I have not written a review for quite some time and after reading and hearing some of the negative criticism about this film i felt i had to give my opinion after watching it last week. In fact i almost didn't watch it based on some of the complaints i heard, such as: "The C.G.I. monsters are awful and really fake looking", "The ending sucks", erm yeah and that's about it, I don't think I've heard an other issues with it. SO, first of all this is not a typical action film, the Initial scenes echo loneliness and desolation, and I felt these scenes were truly amazing to behold, evoking sadness and compassion, seeing the wild-life roaming free in a once never sleeping city and the plant life breaking it's way through the concrete is truly breathtaking and allows ... I would love to give this film five stars because I watched it all the way through and came out the other end with something. My reason for four stars is simply that it is one of the most depressing, violent, and graphic movies I have ever seen. I almost turned it off several times, so gratituous did the violence seem, but, deciding to stick it out, found it to be a remarkable film. The movie; either think its brilliant or brilliantly flawed! Something you should know about this hd disc! That is that only the movie (theatrical and new version) will work on your UK machine! The other side with the special features WILL NOT work! This was at least not for me via the Xbox 360 (stated it was valid region)

"Lower City" was quite good. As a whole, I enjoyed this film but was far from being blown away. All three of the leads are give an opportunity to make an impression. The script however, leaves a bit to be desired. After watching this yesterday the movies that came to mine was City of God/ Amores Perros/ Y Tu Mama Tambien simply because it was to be expected. It is one of the good films that had recently came out of South America. However, "Lower City" doesn't quite live up to its comparative brothers but does manage to create a feel of its own. I empathized with each of the characters and felt they were played brilliantly by the actors involved.
