If you want a detailed, telling story of Factory Records, get Shadowplayers. This film is 'a truth based on lies'. It is almost pure myth feeding. The bits of facts thrown in, are literally thrown in, they're not built into the script, they're simply blurted out at a convinient moment. The omition of New Order is simply unforgivable. You cannot tell the story of Factory Records without putting some detail into New Order, without whom Factory would have sunk without a trace very quickly. Other important bands of the era don't even get a mention, but these are understandable, the Smiths and the Stone Roses for example were not on Factory, and this is the story of Factory. No matter how many times it is repeated on TV or if I'm bored and pop the DVD in, I can happily watch this over and over again. Gorman isn't the funniest stand up (Check out youtube) but he is a masterful story teller. Most of the extras are pretty rubbish fillers, but a couple are good. You can expand the story when prompted and he explains it in more depth. Also a Q and A session with the audiance offers some interesting insite into how he works. If you like this, I recommend the Dave Gorman Collection, which you can only buy through his website. And if you can find ways to get it, his Important Astrology Experiment is excellent.

This is undoubtedly the best thing to ever come out of BBC 3. It solidifies Rob Brydon's reputation not only as a sharp standup, improvisor, impressionist and actor, but also as a great writer. After Peep Show, this is my favourite comedy on TV. It's witty, deadpan, and hits the nail on the head every time. You won't regret buying this.

A friend made me sit down and watch this DVD at first i was thinking hmm what the heck? but i loved it it was so funny to watch and granted i wasn't laughing on the floor pissing myself constantly it was a pretty hilarious dvd! it's something you could put on at a family gathering if they're all boring gits and just need some livening up also i can bet that 9 out of 10 times people who watch it will search for a googlewhack, haha! i know i did it's actually quiet hard to do yet so addictive
