"The Crow" is excellent in so many ways. First, Brandon Lee is unique, torn between grief and eagerness to avenge his and Shelley's death, the directing is outstanding and far above the standard of this genre, the visuals are a blast. In fact the entire cast - even the smaller roles - were excellently cast. There is nothing bad I can say about this movie. A MUST SEE!

This is cracking stuff. Plenty of stunts, good one liners, car chases, gunfights - in fact it's pretty much perfect action cinema. A guaranteed good evening's TV.

This film is great. I would recommend it time and time again. If at first you don't see the wonder of it...you must watch it more than once, you will then see the depth with which I believe it was intended to portray.

Ned Devine lives in a small, rural, old-fashioned Irish village and wins the national lottery. Unfortunately, the shock of winning gives him an immediate and fatal heart-attack. The entire village, led by two of Ned's friends, conspire to collect and share the money by impersonating Ned and fooling the lottery officials. Lots of beautiful scenery. The Irish accents are sometimes difficult to understand. Ian Bannen and David Kelly are wonderful as the two who run the impersonation scam. They make perfect old scoundrels or curmudgeons. Everyone seems believable as inhabitants of a small, rural Irish village. This is a movie that makes you laugh occasionally but smile a lot. I grew up watching the original film so I expected not to like this version as much but I actually prefer it. It's a lot darker than the original film and I found it very amusing. I wasn't so impressed with all the added parts about Willy Wonka's father but apart from that it was all good. I think it's one of those films that's just as good for adults as it is for children. And of course it has Johnny Depp in it, which is a great bonus!

I only watched this recenty and I really loved this film.....just captures the progression and danger of surfing at the highest level. I am not a surfer and I don't think you really have to be into it to appreciate this film at all...it's shot nicely and the documentary style with interviews makes it flow nicely.

I haven't seen it or bought it, but it sounds like a remake of "Crossroads" to me. No way.

The film starts off with great promise - the early scene at a commune with two group leaders putting on a stage show for the kids - Star Wars instead of Shakespeare! This brings humour and humanity in the very early stages. You get a sense of the warmth and the protective responsibility these people have for the children. The community `motto' about always watching the skies is a jarring reminder that there's a horror to this film. Within minutes you care about the community and feel genuinely very concerned for them, and the arrival of gung-ho Americans upsets the balance. Unfortunately the vulnerability of the community and the feeling of concern isn't recreated throughout the rest of the film - the focus turns to big guns and action.
