With this series we are fresh off the regeneration from the previous Doctor played by Christopher Eccleston and now David Tennant has a lot to live up to; he does it and he does it with style. Billie Piper comes back as the magical Rose Tyler and we are given a series where she not only has to handle the notion of a different looking Doctor, but she has to handle the fact that she's falling in love with him and we're given hints that he's falling in love with Rose.

Episode 1: New Earth: In the year 5 Billion and 23 the Doctor takes Rose to the new home of the human race, simply called New Earth and he takes her to the aptly named New New York. There the Doctor meets up with an old friend the Face of Boe but he stumbles upon a secret ... Read More:

This is definetley the best series yet. Brilliant cast, brilliant acting, brilliant series! The whole series had everything. Humour, history, the doctor finds his daughter, he re-meets davros and the dalek; it has everything. The Doctor's assistant is Donna from the Christmas Special 2006. I thought she did superbly, better than expected. People who say this is expensive, that is partly true, but you get all the episodes (if you bought the 4 seperate DVD's the cost would be £47.92) and you get the christmas special and confidential, so it is worth it.
So I recommend you get this and you will enjoy it!

series 1 started off everything(makes sense)but seriously if it weren't for the success of this series then the show wouldn't have survived...thanks to the amazing writers and crew behind it and some fab actors.
eppy guide-
Rose-4/5-the start...and what a great start it is too...Billie Piper CAN act as the great Rose Tyler and the Autons are very creepy.
The end of the world-4/5-very good all round episode tht boasts some amazing visuals.
the unquiet dead-4/5-very scary episode with some terrifying zombies...and the doctor meets Charles Dickens.
Aliens of London-2/5-a decent episode but not fantastical...contains the infamous big ben crash scene...but not much else.
World War Three-2.5/5-slightly better but the Slitheen aren't the greatest ... Read More:

The fourth series of Doctor Who has been perhaps the finest season out of the lot. My main reason for believing that is when I compare this series to the ones before, this seems to have stood out more in terms of overall quality. When judging the series by each episode individually, I've found that Series 4 has been more consistent than anything that's gone before it.

The fourth and final DVD volume of this series justifies my belief. Without doubt, this three-parter is the highlight of Season 4. Collectively and individually, these episodes are real classics and the ultimate way to end this spectacular series. They have everything and features both David Tennant and Catherine Tate at the peak of their abilities.

The first episode, "Turn Left", is truly ... Read More:

This was recommended for me by amazon as i am addicted to David Tennant and after reading all the recommendations was really tempted to buy it. then it was repeated on BBC4 and although i only got to watch the last 4 episodes, the only thing that stopped me from buying the series straight away was the fact that i had no money i cannot praise the actors enough. an amazing show.

Silence in the Library and Forests of the Dead is an enthralling 2 parter concerned with the terrible vashda nerada. Shadows that have a life of their own and the mysterious River Song all work splendidly to make this a 'must not miss' volume. Midnight finishes it off very well, the Dr scared? Frightened by the potential violence humans are capable of in disturbing conditions, this gives a completely new angle to the Dr's personality. Ripping stuff.

This is a definite comeback for Doctor Who after the lamentable time of Martha Jones who to me was a very one dimensional character. Catherine Tate, who isn't constantly in awe of the Doctor, adds a lot of humour to proceedings.

The first episode, "Partners in Crime" was not scary as such but made you think and featured great turns by Sarah Lancashire as Miss Foster and Verona Joseph (Jess from Holby City) as nosy a journalist. The Adipose were also the cutest monster in existance.

Episode number two, "The Fires of Pompeii" is probably the weakest episode as the monsters were neither scary nor particularly thought provoking. However, when you return to this episode, having watched the whole of this series there are many threads and references to pick up on which become ... Read More:

Series 4 of the new Doctor Who has been in my opinion, one of the finest series ever. David Tennant remains as brilliant as ever, and if anything changes, it's that he can only get better as time goes on. Catherine Tate, has surprised and amazed me, with her portrayal of Donna Noble in this series, making the character such a credible, efficient and lovable assistant to the Doctor.

All this excellence continues in this fine volume of the fourth series, as Russell T Davies revives another old villainous race from the Doctor's past, introduces more allies and facts from the Time Lord's past (the older series to be exact) and includes some more good old interaction with one of history's greatest figures.

To start of, we have (essentially) a three-part mini-arc that features the welcome (first) ... Read More:
