I ordered this film for Black History month, and I really enjoyed this film. I found the concept of this film extremely good! It changed my perception of black history, history in general, the importance of family as an institution, and the underlying capacity to heal problems in the present day, regardless of colour race or creed.

The Long walk home takes us to the period of American history when the Black uprising was just taking root.

In Montgomery the Blacks decide to boycott the buses and walk everywhere. This means Odessa starts getting late to work and is always exhausted which takes a toll on her work and family life.

To have such an amazingly deep sense of drama but yet have such a shallow and flat story that does little more than put you through hell for 90 minutes is a shame...but Love Liza is not a bad movie. There is little in way of symbolism or lessons learned in this film, it merely tells of a man who tragically loses his wife to suicide and attempts to comment no further. If watching a movie that attempts to challenge your patience for the sadness is something you enjoy then Love Liza would be recommended, but the film simply lacks the meat that exists in so many films that are meant to entertain and/or to make you think.

On the upswing we get to see Phillip Seymour Hoffman in a feature role where he is free to do what he does better ... Read More:

DVD : Under Siege [1992]
Under Seige is another of those relentless action movies that both entertains and rolls a few eye balls. And with Steven Segal as the protagonist, its no wonder that you can't take this film seriously.

It's the usual story; Segal, just your average musclebound cook who rebels his officers, is the only man who can save the day after Tommy Lee Jones (a crazed ex servant in vietnam) takes over a large warship. Being trapped in a freezer while his companions were held hostage, he has the perfect opportunity to;

- Rip off his shirt minutes after escaping the freezer (with absolutely no intentions of flexing his body, of course...)
- Meet a fine young woman who as usual is a pain in the ****
- Teach this young woman ... Read More:
