One of the least known and yet best films I own. From beginning to end it will hold a very big mirror up to all that is truly hateful and mundane when working in a cubicle maze for a boss (or bosses!) who can drive even the most upbeat and placid human being to new levels of insanity. The characters and their private revolution against the system have everyone who sees this movie cackling and nodding their heads. It is probably the best movie to watch on a Sunday night with all your friends, just for the look your manager gives you the next morning when you mutter the immortal line: "I could burn down the building you know...". ;)

Why? Why do all the good shows have to die before their time? I remember watching this this show during the mid nineties and thinking "this show is just to good to last". And you know what? It was. AMERICAN GOTHIC was inventive, slick, stylish and genuinely creepy. Each episode was, by design, shot by a different director so consequently each show was entirely unique and had the feel and look of a mini movie. Gary Cole was absolutely brilliant as the fiendishly cool sheriff Lucas Buck, the best TV villain of all time! I have very little doubt A.G. was the inspiration behind later and vastly inferior shows such as PRIMEVAL, POINT PLEASANT, SUPERNATURAL etc. All of which are not fit to carry AMERICAN GOTHIC's jock strap! ... ...the axing of this series was the most criminal. Yes, I watched it on TV when it first came out, and no it just didn't seem to measure up to B5. Anyway I've bought the series just as a father/son bonding thing cos I did share B5 with him. I am a recovering alcoholic, going through horrid withdrawal just now and asking some very difficult and painful questions of myself. In The Line of Fire is another fantastic film from Clints 'latter years', though it's always nice to see by this time he still had a full voice and wasn't so creaky. The storyline is good enough to keep you hooked, while the plot, though has been done quite a few times before, is given a 'Presidential' makeover when looney-assasin John Malkovich plans to kill the President before the end of the current elections. It's also funny in its own way that he still has this amazing ability to attract even young women, as he so does in this film despite the 40/50 year age gap. Must be his own brand of aftershave... Davidoff hasn't pulled for me yet! What's also nice to see is that he puts a smile on his face regularly whilst sweet-talking his assistant ... Read More:

In Ricky Bobby we have another of those classic quote-laden wide-eyed Will Ferrell performances that essentially carry the films on their backs. The plot of Talladega Nights is rubbish, sports-movie-by-numbers trash, but the comedy is golden. Low on brains, high on stupid, one-liner trailer-trash-isms courtesy of Ferrell and John C. Reilly, who's really starting to establish himself on the comedy scene. The pair's chemistry is undeniably strong here. Just two big stupid hairy men making fools of themselves. Sacha Baron Cohen's a tad much as the French competition, but the rest of the cast provide solid back up. If you're a fan of Anchorman... well, if you're a fan of Anchorman, you've no doubt already seen this. Wasn't it good?

However Kelly is less co-operative than first hoped and the mission risks being compromised. Can they stay out of trouble long enough to stop the sale? Take a little bit of Shanghai Noon, a little bit of Rush Hour, remove the oriental spice from the stew et viola! - you've got I Spy! By mixing the essence of Jackie Chan's sidekicks from both these films and putting the resultant stew into a comedy spy movie you have this enjoyable if unspectacular film.
