Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Bought this last year and every time I watch it, it still makes me laugh. What more can you say? Buy it, you wont be disappointed.

All I can say is - brilliant! Great script and acting. Not subtle humour and mainly of sexual nature but it is witty and the exaggeration of various male vs female psychological nuances makes it hilarious... and true! I would say it's an equally great viewing for both men and women. My personal favourite is "lost in translation" affair between Jeff and a stunning foreigner.

Okay first things first. I am a bloke. The first time I saw this film I had an upset tummy on a Friday. Since going out was obviously off, I was lying on the couch under the duvet trying to find something to watch on TV.Geez a soppy girl comedy was my first thought when it started. And then Debra Messing appeared, WOW! my tummy might not have been working properly but there was nothing wrong with my hormones. She is beautiful and she is lovely in this film. So many nice moments to choose from, for me when she awakes on the plane and is a beautiful mess, the bathroom scene when the escort is showering,the car scene,so many to choose from. If you are a fan of the Pirates series, this is a must-have. The movie is good fun, carried almost entirely on the shoulders of Johnny Depp, but the small amount of character development you see with Lee Arenberg and Mackenzie Crook (the oh so eloquent pirate) is a welcome development. The picture quality is outstanding, and this one really shows why you should upgrade to HD at this point in time.

I'll probably be lynched for this heresy!... but I wouldn't recommend this one unless you're a diehard fan of one of the actors, or just a special effects geek. This film wanders around, without much of a plot, relying far too heavily on humour [!??] and special effects. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but want to, but it destroys relationships, with characters betraying one another instead of standing together. Not a 'Feel Good' film, and not a PATCH on Pirates I, Curse of the Black Pearl.

As a responsible, mature adult with a certain amount of education...I loved every moment of this film. Fantastic humour, a great cast and a brilliant plot. The perfect film.

Fantastic series - but if you rent this you only get 4 discs - missing a whole 13 episodes from series 2!!! Not sure if the same applies if you buy the set - but worth checking before you buy!

From the first reading of Highsmith's novel I felt she was a minor genius in evoking both the mind of a deeply disturbed character and the divided society of high elegance and low misery in which he moved and from which he was alienated. Was the split in his mind or the society's? Surely both. For years Holywood seemingly "bottled" out of confronting the issue as it avoided Highsmith's most masterly opus. This film was eagerly awaited. Disappointingly the whole comes to less than the sum of its parts. The locations and period values are stunning. The direction is considered. The essence of Highsmith's novel sporadically peeps through some of the acting. Yet the final article fails to convince.
