Basically, everyone else seems to have just said the plot of the film. I will say that this movie is one of the most beautiful, amazing films ever made and is best watched alone, with a clear mind. Heath Ledger is commonly said to have given a brilliant performance, which I agree with completely, on parr with his last complete role as the Joker. However, I do feel Jake Gyllenhaal is very underrated in this film, I love his performance, particularly at the start of the film, though his character's actions begin to get on my nerves towards the end, this doesn't take away from the magnificent ending, which could not be bettered. I have never watched it without crying.

"Gripping, intelligent and amazing" is the pull quote on the back of the DVD sleeve and it's the closest opinion to my own. If you want an all action war film, this won't be at the top of your lift. Jarhead is one of the only (in my brief viewing of the many war films out there) 'intelligent' war films out there thanks to it being based on the main character's personal experience in the Gulf. The casting is spot on with Jake Gyllenhaal in the role of Swoff, whose face looks every part a seasoned Marine the moment it appears. Jamie Foxx plays Staff Sgt. i was looking forward to this film but was very disapointed it never got going really and alomst fell asleep twice it was that boring it could of been alot better.

"Zodiac" is a moderately interesting but overly long film about a serail killers reign of fear in the San Francisco area in the late Sixties/early Seventies. It starts off with several vividly captured and realistic murder scenes before descending into the dense realms of a police procedural and highlighting an amateur investigation by an earnest, obsessed newspaper cartoonist ,played by Jake Gyllenhall."Zodiac" is based on a true story and the facts are that this perplexing case has never been solved over the years. I absolutely love this film. Awhile back i borrowed this film of my sister because it looked interesting and the cover was cool, and when i watched i was hooked. The great thing about this movie is that it makes you think alot very clever, the acting is brilliant, the storyline is just bloody incredible. Everytime i watch this film it gets better and i always have to watch all the way through it's so amazing. This is hard to put in the genre but who cares. The ending really makes you think, and the song Mad World by Gary Jules is just perfect for this film. The whole story is really interesting about a troubled teenager but very smart, Is told by an imaginary rabbit(creepy rabbit) that the world is going to end and goes on from there.
