A true classic a film that I keep coming back to. Almost an underground film.Don't think of the politics it's only a film about people and their lives.

Here's my review, I hope it is helpful:

This Animated Shakespeare Box Set, winner of 2 Emmy awards, contains 12 of the bard's plays that were originally broadcast on BBC2 in 1994. The scripts for the 'Animated Tales' have been adapted from the original Shakespeare by Leon Garfield. A reknowed Shakespearean scholar, Garfield worked closely with a panel of academic experts to create plays that are masterfully abridged to only 30 minutes, yet are faithful to Shakespeare's language and plots.

The 12 episodes are :

1. Romeo & Juliet
2. Twelfth Night
3. The Tempest
4. A Midsummer's Nights Dream
5. Richard III
6. Othello
7. The Taming Of The Shrew
8. ... Read More:

The Golden compass came out just after Stardust (great movie btw), further more amazing union of Craig and Kidman (The Invasion) you know you won't be disappointed. It is great movie however while watching the it I found myself lost with the story plot sometimes, and it seemed like the movie suffered some kind of editing sacrifices...
Therefore recently I have reached for the book and I am overwhelmed!!! It's difficult to describe how amazing it is. Everything cleared; Now I love the movie unconditionally!

I was reading recently that they might not me The Subtle Knife adaptation, because The Golden Compass performed badly. Performed badly because the story is not finished yet, and everyone should reach for the book, if they don't ... Read More:

Actually this is an enjoyable enough movie for those who love Glenn Close or Ioan Gruffudd, and there are lots of fun elements to enjoy. The parrot who thinks he is a dog is an absolute scream, and the film itself is well made and well shot in my opinion. There is nothing really wrong with it except for the story itself. I can't even fault the script really...I think they did the best they could under the circumstances, and the actors all came up trumps...but as I say it's the story that lets the whole thing down.
Sometimes an original story based on established characters can work well (and has done), but this is not one of them. The story in my opinion is far-fetched even for a Disney film, and rather daft, but all in all it makes the most of what ... Read More:

I bought this for my 6 and 9 year old girls, we watched it once and they told me they never want to see it again.
They sat horror-struck at the worsening cruelty and rejection suffered by the poor horse. Me too.I kept wondering why it's hailed as a great family film when we all felt miserable by the end! Not even seeing Sean could cheer me up.
I daren't even give it to a charity shop for fear of traumatising any more kids.

The Singing Detective is certainly one of the best things ever to be seen on TV. It certainly caused a stir in the UK at the time because of its explicit treatment of sexuality. The story certainly is multi layered and fascinating and the acting is superb down to really minor characters. Usually the success is attributed to Potters's writing. When you read the screenplay which was published by Faber & Faber you certainly read an interesting story (although somewhat influenced by DH Lawrence) but you are not as overwhelmed as you are when seeing it on screen. So from my point of view The Singing Detective is at least as much the product of Jon Amiel and the mesmerizing pictures he creates plus his direction of actors. I find it amazing that the beautiful Alison Steadman ... Read More:

This Marykate and Ashley movie was my first of their films that I had seen, and I had got it from HMV. I counldn't wait to watch it and I watched that night. It was brillant, one of their absoult best, because I've seen all of their movies. I seriously reccomend this movie. This movie was quite real and based to every day life, unlike some of the other's that I've seen. It is about these two girls, who have discovered a crime of some robbed jewel, and police are finding it. There family is a big not good at keeping secrets family. The FBI are on the case and get movie all around the world as they keep spilling the beans about the jewel. There last place is Sydney, Austrarila and they can't spill it this time. AND THEY DON'T! tHANKGOODNESS! They have a great time. Also the precious Jewel ... Read More:

This TV series was made in the days of Thatchers Britain when the Labour party had a long way to go before it's transformation into New Labour. It dramatizes how many people (notably British business and the press) of the time were scared stiff of what would happen if Labour was elected. Well, we get a raw glimpse of those fears and how the right wing establishment might have responded in this story of Harry Perkins (portrayed brilliantly by Ray MacAnally), a newly elected very left-wing Labour prime minister. His agenda includes unilateral nuclear disarmament and removing U.S. bases from British soil. This leads to an unelected clique of spies, diplomats and businessmen conspiring to wreck Perkin's government and bring it down. It all ends in a very British Coup; no firing squads and no ...
