There were so many 5-star reviews so i decided to buy Spaced and this sitcom has let me down. What I didn't like at all is that the creators had just taken out numerous bits from popular movies and tried to spoof them. The whole sitcom is countless unfunny spoofing. For instance we all remember that scene from Pulp Fiction with the toaster where Bruce Willis kills Travolta.OK, you can watch it again in Spaced.Nobody kills anybody here.
The writers just pointlessly put it in. Was it supposed to be hilarious? Where are you own ideas?
On the other hand you can call it a wonderful, inventive breath of fresh air in the stale world of sitcom.
But i prefer The Royle family and The Office to bits from The Shining Pulp Fiction Star Wars ... Read More:

I bought this recently after hearing good feedback from friends and various web sites over the years and I have to say I think it is almost up there with The Office and Phoenix Nights (although there are not as many laugh out loud moments). I just love it! Great characters, interesting episodes and unobtrusive film references aplenty! 4 out of 5 !!!

To my shame I gave the first series of spaced 4 stars. It should have been five. This is a very enjoyable, witty sitcom. and I can now say with all confidence it matches The Office and Fawlty Towers (and Phoenix Nights)...YOU MUST WATCH THIS SERIES !!!!!!

Pure is on of the most emotional, har-hitting films I have ever seen. With a stunnng performance from youngster Harry Eden, whon really brings to life the seriousness of Drug addiction and abuse. Harry plays the part of 10 year old Paul, who is trying desperatly to save his mother from destroying herself through Heroin. Pure really shows how a young boy can take on almost anything to save his mother. Outstanding!

DVD : Between Two Women [2000]
I absolutely loved this film, it makes such a refreshing change from action movies with CGI overload, explicit sex and violence. It is a beautifully gently paced story which gives an idealistic insight into a bygone era. I loved the way the relationship between the lead characters was portrayed, the tentative looks, the unspoken words, the hope and longing being beautifully conveyed by the actresses Barbara Marten (playing Ellen) and Andrina Carroll (playing the teacher Kathy). I do however share the disappointment about the scene in the park that was partly cut, as I feel this was pivotal to the plot and showed the depth of emotion and love between the two women. This, I believe, was a mistake by the writer and director Steven Woodcock, as the cut scene does ... Read More:

Had never seen it on tv before so only came across it due to a friend buying it. After i'd watched a few episodes from series one i realised i had to buy the box set! it is so cleverly done and am sad there was only 2 series of it! It's definitely worth buying i literally cry with laughter when i watch the episodes.

I'll be honest here: I thought Shaun of the Dead was OKAY. Not amazing, definitely worth 4 stars, but not as stratospherically brilliant as everyone made it out to be (in my opinion!).
With Hot Fuzz, however, the tables turned. I came to this film with average expectations, expecting a decent-ish cop comedy. What I got blew me away.
The film felt bigger, smarter, faster...and funnier. Watching it first time around was good enough, and full of laughs (It's hard to say what kind of comedy style it is. Most would say black comedy, but there's a bit of everything here, especially tongue-in-cheek).

But I think the real beauty of Hot Fuzz is the subtlety and sheer number of references it makes. Whether it's spotting a character making a premonition ... Read More:
