I usually like chick flicks, but this film was just too slow to hold my interest. Plus, it was cringeworthy and awkward to watch. On the whole, I admire Kate Winslet as an actress, but in this film, I just found her very annoying. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone...it gets two stars simply because its aesthetically pleasing...

Sense and Sensibility, directed by Ang Lee with a screenplay written by Emma Thompson, made up one part of the holy trinity of Austen productions which aired in 1995. That crowning year for Austenmania began with the BBC production of Persuasion in April 1995 (starring Amanda Root and Ciáran Hinds), followed by the impeccable BBC version of Pride and Prejudice (starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle) in September and October, and was capped off in mid-December by this film version of Sense and Sensibility. Emma Thompson's much-praised screenplay (for which she won an Oscar and a Golden Globe) straddles the difficult divide between pleasing the community of Jane Austen purists and making the 1811 novel appealing to a wider audience of cinema-goers with ... I don't wish to repeat all the astute observations given by the other reviewers. This is indeed an hilarious film, appropriate for all ages, expertly voiced by one of the finest lineups of actors I've seen in an animated adventure.

Three reasons to see this film:
(1) singing slugs;
(2) frog mime;
(3) the rest of the film.

I consider this to be the world's second most perfect film. Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is still number one. But then, Were-Rabbit has Wallace and Gromit, and was hand-animated. Let's consider this a *close* second.

I cannot describe it at all.
Touching, moving, passionate.
None of these words do Titanic justice.
A TRUE tear-jerker.
The way the lead roles act is overpowering.
And the sheer terror of the sinking really touches your heart.
If you have not already, buy this film.
Please!
I'll buy it for you if I have to!!

I watched this film over two days ago, and have found it increasingly difficult to think of anything else since. An unnassuming, honest, off-beat, film , 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' is one of those movies that will grow on you and make you want to watch it time and time again, and is intelligent and thought-provoking enough to keep you captivated on repeated viewings.

Boasting none of the usual hollywood glitz, though the cast list is definately something to show off about, 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' follows the shy, quite and often seemingly 'boring' Joel Barish, who, after dating a girl called Clementine for several years visits her one day, only to discover she has no recollection of who he is and has in fact had him intentionally ... I haven't seen this film in years - which I do appreciate might devalue my credibility as a reviewer. However, even having seen the film only once, I consider it one of the best films I have ever seen.

Artistically, the whole cast performed extremely well. As would be expected of actors such as Kevin Spacey, Laura Linney and Kate Winslet, the story was told in an understated and moving manner. However, it is the story itself which makes this a masterpiece. On the surface it was a crime-thriller tale, which didn't patronise or bore the viewer with a predictable outcome - a rarity itself in Hollywood. It's clear underlying intention was to highlight the flaws in America's Death Penalty punishment laws, and the message was powerful.

Finding Neverland dramatises the events surrounding and inspiration for Peter Pan. Based in fact but using large dollops of artistic licence creates a magical yarn worthy of J.M. Barrie himself.
Jonny Depp irritatingly convincing as the legendary playwrite and Kate Winslet at her endearing best apply tolerable amounts of smaltz. Essentially an affecting period drama which borrows a little pixie dust to elivate this movie into the great category.
Great evening viewing with your significant other.

I loves films,but I am no connoisseur,this was one of the rare occasions that my wife and I did not see a movie all the way through,we found it too weird,so it came to an abrupt end. Was there something we missed?

I found the first series of Ricky Gervais's "Extras" to be mildly amusing and clever,but certainly not as funny as "The Office".I thought that the series bore certain similarities to "I'm Alan Partridge" as well ; down on his luck middle aged man seeking his big break working alongside a slightly dysfunctional but loyal female.But again the "Partidge" series was much funnier and at times hilarious. Each of the six episodes of "Extras" are set on different film sites with each one featuring different guest stars,such as Les Dennis , Ben Stiller and Patrick Stewart. Gervais plays an extra alongside his friend and fellow extra Maggie,a Scottish wannabe maneater, and it is their relationship that is the highlight of "Extras" and what helps to makes it so entertaining. There are no particularly memorable scenes ... Read More:

If this is the version I've seen, it must be the most coy rendering of actual events I've seen. It's well known that the most significant figure in the Bletchley/Enigma project was Alan Turing. Yet I don't remember that he was ever mentioned in this film. Instead, a sweet romance was shoehorned in. Turing, we should understand, was homosexual - and was made to suffer for it, to the point of suicide. He was never honoured in his lifetime, or even until very recently, largely for that reason. This version is truly Hamlet without the prince. Come on, directors, we're all grown up now.
