As others have noted the box set is incomplete.

I pre-ordered this after the knowledge of the writers strike.

At that time it was known that season four was being cut into two halves for airing purposes. It was fully known that the second half is indeed that and is NOT season 5. This remains the case today as I type this review.

When I pre-ordered this it didnt have info on running-length so couldnt estimate the number of episodes as is now the case. It was advertised as season four complete.

It quite simply isnt. I checked as much as was possible at the time and could not have known it would only contain half the season. The back of the box actually says "all 10 episodes of season four" yet ... Read More:

Okay people, newsflash. This film is included in the Season 4 boxset. Which was slightly galling to discover, though Amazon's price was very reasonable, but I now have two copies of this, when I only need one...

First things first. Old school cylons. They're still CGI, sadly, but the appearance of the Centurions just reminds you how great that design is. And they say by your command, which is ace. There's a fab mid-air battle between a Centurion and a young Bill Adama, which also is ace.

Okay, so what about the rest of the film. The story uses an officer who served on the Pegasus as its POV character, allowing the writers to flashback to when Admiral Cain was still alive and therefore give the excellent Michelle Forbes more work. ... Read More:

I had never seen the original Battlestar Galactica and watched this mini series because it was cheap and I saw it had reasonable reviews. BSG is now my favorite TV show. The characters are complex and believable, the story is dark yet superbly told and the show combines stellar acting with some fantastic action sequences. As a whole the series manages to be compelling in many ways. The music and CGI are top notch and the wonderful cast add depth to every issue that gets raised and many are. This is no black and white story as it hinted at in the mini series and it is astounding how deep it all gets while never losing sight of the struggles of the amazingly well defined and diverse characters.

The mini series itself was the first thing I have ever watched ... Read More:

I was never a fan of the original, but this re imagined version hooked me right form the start. Its structured as a complete story with lots of strong and flawed characters and plenty of action. There are interesting relationships and B5 fans will undoubtedly appreciate the who-you-are / what-you-are implications of the story.

Acting, CGI special effects, and production are all excellent.

Highly recommended.

As mentioned above, the show rocks. Edward James Olmos again excelled as Adama. And so did Michelle Forbes as Admiral Cain. But even though the show is delivered via DVD, I could'nt help thinking it looks and feel as if I'm watching VCD. So my rating is based on the show(content) alone and not on the video quality(DVD).

So many 5-star reviews for a sci-fi serie with space ships shooting fake laser bullets in typical star wars fashion? You can imagine that there was some hesitation when I bought season 1.

But as so many others, I have been pleasantly surprised. This is not just an action series. This is not just about the survival of the human race or the war agains the self-created robots. Of course there are some action sequences (which are spectacular, but certainly not the best part of the show), but there is so much more.

Each episode brings something new on the table: politics (this review is written around the time of the republican convention and the choice of Sarah Pailin as vice-president, exactly when one of the episodes also discusses the way a vice-president is chosen), religion, and of ... Read More:

With so much real quality television around, I suppose it's inevitable that some just don't quite make the grade. And in an age when writing on television on TV is reaching such high standards, it's a shame that in the end it's the writing that lets this down.
It's also worth remembering that if you plan to purchase this, it is only EIGHT episodes - yes, that includes the pilot. So Jaime Sommers is in a car accident, gets her limbs, eye and ear replaced with superior bionic parts by a covert group who go around saving the world each week. Hangers on include her younger sister who lives with her and knows nothing of her secret life, and later, a boyfriend. And for character development, well, in 8 episodes, that's all we have time for, folks. Think of it as Alias, with added bionics, minus any of the charisma. ... Read More:

well what can i say...its awful.
there is no pace,no(half decent) actors(except JLC for her single scene for Lauries demise)and well no plotline.
a failure...and surprisingly better than 3-6 but still atrocious...why they even bothered with this film i will never know...it is even better than the remake of the original which was a surprise.
H2O redeemed the franchise with good performances and fun scenes although there were holes in the plot it was a very good sequel...this should be avoided at all costs.
and to top it all off a '15' certificate to make this the tamest out of the whole franchise.
