Aside from this not being very funny or even mildly interesting the film is a prime example of how it reinforces the belief than an old, fat, ugly man can be a 'babe magnet' purely because he has a bid wad (of cash).

At the begining a wheezing, viagra popping Nicholson dates a beautiful girl at least 35 years younger than himself, not because he is interested in a serious relationship, can offer her love, support and affection on an equal footing to her, or, is even vaguely kind in any way but just as a bit of fun in the bedroom. It is so disgusting it doesnt even bear thinking about. Mother Diane Keaton is fashionably cool about finding this balding, sweaty tub of lard waddling about in her kitchen, about to grope her gorgeous ... Read More:

Flicking through my recommendations on Amazon today I came across this. Well I bought it when it first came out on DVD so thought I would add my voice to those other reviews about the quality. I won't say to much about the film. For me it was very, very enjoyable. Well acted (a pleasure to see so many British stars mixed with those from across the pond), well directed (the scene where Beatrice and Benedict are 'captured' by the trap is superb), with good music and wonderful scenery.

Such a shame then that the DVD is so sloppily put together. In Mono only! No scene selection. No 'making of'. No directors' comments. Surely the time has come for a new edition?

I have most of Kenneth Branagh's work and enjoyed immensely ... Read More:

I love these films and cant wait to see them in hi-def.
But yet again, just like with the Bladerunner blu-ray releases, the UK is getting the smelly end of the stick.
Why are we only getting a 3-disk version when America is getting the massive 7-disk ultimate version?
Alright its $90 dollars (approx £50) but I am sure anyone who is buying this collection would be prepared to pay the extra £17
Hopefully this set will be region free and I will then buying my copy from Amazon.com and not .co.uk

The story is simple; self-centered John Constantine: Hellblazer (Keanu Reeves) did a "no no" in his youth ensuring him a place in the underworld and to compound the problem he is to be short lived due to a smoking habit.

Mean time he, due to his accident he has the ability to see angles and demons. Even though he is conceited and knows where he will be going he still finds time to do some good for mankind and in the process send a few demons back where they came from.

I had always enjoyed watching this movie for all the reasons stated in other reviews, but last night I sat through an hour and fifty odd minutes of the director's cut of "Dark City" - released in 1998 and totally ignored by the majority of critics and film goers. In fact, The Director's Cut copy I had was given to me by a friend and, as far as I know, is not available in this country. The plot of this film is about a populace trapped in a perpetually dark city, which is closed down and re-tuned by the controllers. Memories are altered, people put into other slots in the society, and the entire landscape altered as part of the experiment. Essentially it's The Matrix, but without all the silly Kung Fu, shouting and shooting and the pseudo religious clap trap ... Read More:

The Matrix Trilogy must be one of the most significant films of our time, and is likely to go down as an all time sci-fi classic along with the likes of Blade Runner. It is obviously laden with symbology fished from a variety of sources, but I wonder if the Watchowski brothers realised just exactly how powerful a metaphor for our reality they were creating.

The central premise that our lives are not 'real' but are steeped in illusion in order that our life force may be fed upon whilst we are enfenced unwittingly like cattle - this is a relevant and powerful message on many levels. It can easily be seen that this is true on a superficial level, with the rampant rise of ultra-aggressive capitalist consumerism, whereby everyone is 'sold a dream' in order ... Read More:

Hollywood loves Dick, and that's a fact. Philip K. Dick, that is: whenever the powers that be require a sound sci-fi brain scratcher, they turn to the pages of special K. The man behind Total Recall, Minority Report and the more than slightly less impressive Paycheck, Phil is the go-to guy for short tales of paranoia, future dystopia and drug abuse, with A Scanner Darkly representing only his second full novel to be adapted into a movie (the first being "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?" which resulted in the mighty Blade Runner). At the helm is another Dick, Richard Linklater, one of the slipperiest directors working today, a man who simply refuses to be pigeonholed, but who is as yet unproven in the sci-fi genre.

Finally, Dick gets a film worthy of ... Read More:

Loved it, loved it, loved it! It is currently on sale very cheaply, but this is a keeper! Guaranteed to take your mind off your current worries! Keanu and Sandra have fantastic on-screen chemistry - you really, really want them to get together.... but someone is killed in a road accident.... there's a very cute dog, too!! The time lapse thing is weird at first, but your get into it very quickly, and are constantly willing Sandra NOT to get stuck with the boring lawyer guy!!! Hankies at the ready, girls.....

I have watched a lot of american football films through the years. It is not a very well known film, but the cast is (which includes Keanu Reeves, Gene Hackman, Orlando Jones and Rhys Ifans). Keanu Reeves plays Shane Falco, a washed-out all-American QB who has the to guide a group of misfits as the pro's went on strike. Their goal is to make the playoffs and the road to it is full of mishaps, funnies etc etc, this film is not just for the American Football fans out there but ANYONE that likes a good all round film.
