It is hard not to focus on the cast the spotless performance by every single actor and actress in this movie. What makes Legends of Fall a must-watch film is the extraordinary story that lies within. The viewers will be gobsmacked by events that will shatter a family and reunite a bond of love that carries an unbearable ethical burden. This is not a straight-forward movie, by this I mean there are several issues going on at the same time, constantly intriguing the viewer, yet the way this movie is made manages not to confuse its audience.

This movie is powerful because it emphasises on how love will always find its way, no matter where and when. Throughout the movie you will be filled with sadness, joy, anxiety, laughter, fear ... Read More:

I can vividly remember the panic of Sunday evenings - bath, hairwash, school uniform laid out by 7.15pm or suffer the wrath of Mum. If she missed a second of this series the consequences were dire.
As I watched this DVD I remembered most of the plot, even though I was definitely too young to watch it back in the day. I think I was actually remembering Mum's reactions to the plot and my view of the characters was certainly coloured by her opinion - initially.
Am the only viewer who actually likes Soames? In the novels, after all, he is the main protagonist; not 'Young' (Kenneth More!) Jolyon. I felt that Irene was a cold, manipulative harridan. There is never any excuse for rape, of course, and I share the horror of the British public regarding ... Read More:

I sat down with great anticipation to watch this film. I was hoping for a 'Brideshead Revisited' experience, but it was more like 'Please Sir!' Lucky Jim is one of my all-time favourite books - and my kids' too. The film does not do justice to the book in any way; perhaps the time is right for someone to attempt a proper dramatisation of the book, with its subtle portrayal of character, its dry humour, its incomparable wit. Don't get me wrong, this film is funny; it has several genuine belly laughs, which is more than you get at the cinema these days, but it's mostly a slapstick, broad humour that is more Carry-On than the intellectual gymnastics of the original work . Ian Carmichael is surprisingly attractive in this film (he reminded me of Mike Myers!) -but again, ... Read More:

DVD : Death Wish 5: The Face of Death [1994] (NTSC)
DEATH WISH 5 - THE FACE OF DEATH is a really good action-thriller (better than part 4!) and a descent ending to my favorite movie series of all time. The story is pretty much the same as usual. Bronson's girlfriend, Olivia Regent is attacked and killed by mobster Tommy O'Shea (a brilliant performance by Michael Parks, by the way). That's enough for Bronson to turn vigilante.

Good directing by Allan Goldstein, this movie is surprisingly suspenseful! Also they way Kersey takes out some of the mobsters is quite interesting and made me smile more than once with cool puns all the way. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED and unfortunately the last Bronson film made for the big screen. Bronson is (was) in top form - although well over 70!

Good movie, even if it is a bit campy now. A great cast turn great performances with subtle comedy. Worth it just to see Alan Rickman as the brooding artist living next door. A comedy in the same spirit of "Rushmore". Ahead of its time and fantastic when you are in the right mood.

Kevin Klein walks a great line in this type of movie between a serious characterization and moments of comic hilarity. Susan Sarandon and Kevin Klein have wonderful on screen chemistry, and the rest of the supporting cast all are given opportunities to show off their skills through a well crafted script. It's well worth seeing.

This may just be my favourite Woody film, despite it having none of the trademark humour of many of his films. It will certainly be, for this viewer, among the most enduring. Even the best jokes lose their potency, after all.

The plot is suggested very well by other reviews but what I feel worth elucidating is the depth of the central character, played by Gena Rowlands. Another Woman is not worth watching for witty one liners, cunning plot twists or even for a profound revelation about some grand human theme. It is about a woman discovering another woman to the one she thought she was. It is never clear which if either she really is. She, and the viewer, is skilfully left in the depths of quandary about this.

Upon reflection - and reflection is required to ... Read More:

First, to get the things straight, I am the first to recognise tha JC Van Damme is not really an actor and his movies are usually nothing more that settings for some martial arts displays. But "Timecop" is the exception to the rule. This is a quite smart story about a very special police force, which fights against the abuse of time travelling. Timecops search fugitives who escaped in the past (there is no travels into the future), bandits, who go to the past to loot and plunder using modern weaponry, crooks, who try to make fortune using knowledge of future events, finally terrorists, who try to influence the future by changing the past. The whole concept is vaguely inspired by SF novel by Paul Anderson, "Time Patrol". JC Van Damme plays one of the Timecops, Mia Sara (delicious and ... Read More:
