When a film gets this many stars from this many people there is little to add. This is a wonderful British comedy which stands up to repeat viewing. I tend to watch it when I'm in need of cheering up and it never fails to do that. It encompasses all that is good and weird about village life and the lengths that people will go to help eachother. You may not choose to use your greenhouse to pay off your debts but you'll certainly enjoy watching this crop grow.

Having watched The English Patient a few times recently I was looking on Amazon for something along similar lines, and luckily i discovered the Best Picture of 1986--Out of Africa. "A classic along the lines of The English Patient" I mumbled to myself as i placed the dvd into the player and cracked open a bottle of red wine. The slow pace of the movie put me off, and all we learn in the first hour is that Meryrl Streep contracts shyphillis from her cheating husband in Africa, and then Robert Redford enters the scene with a dodgy English accent and saves her from boredom and a sham marriage. I just watched this movie, I was just so amazed with Bale, how beautifully he carried that movie on his shoulders with a very stunning performance!! It's a very great and moving movie, and one shouldn't think that it's as old as it is! Well, really all I can say is that this one to watch!

I don't think I've ever seen a film so brilliant. It is most enjoyable throughout. Principally it's a staff suffering from a tirade of mayhem from the students at the same time an inspector and child psychologist are visiting the school. As expected hilarity ensues. But it's crowning glory is the last few minutes, a sudden revelation, and it just fantastically crowns a brilliant film!

This film is amazing. The acting is superb and story very moving. It manages to be happy, sad, funny and uplifting all at once. The 'disturbing' moments work and are integral to the story. I choose to look at it as rather than him being a dirty old man, he's just the same man he always was, a womaniser, in an old body. Wonderful, a must see.

The movie might be a nice movie, but the quality of the blu-ray is really bad, its like they didnt even work on it... If you watched this movie, liked it and want to buy it for your movie collection, then buy the DVD don't waste your money on the blu-ray... I have to give it a 1/5 stars, and if you like Angelina Jolie then make it a 2/5 stars, she deserves a full star...

One unbeatable collection of early sixties black and white comedy feature films! Leslie Phillips is augmented here with an excellent cast of familiar comedy actors and actresses from the era of fast direction and splendid close-up type of films. Joan Hickson and Esma Cannon (A treasure) feature here in "No Kidding" an exceptional film, where the Adult actors here excel, especially Esma as the district nurse! Credit to underused June Jago as a prim Matron who battles with the inebriated cook (Joan Hickson). Early sixties Pop hearthrob Mike Sarne ("Come Outside")has a cameo role here too. Truly an awsome collection of long forgotten crisp comedy classics! Excellent value that will keep the whole family entertained on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
