I've never seen Evita on stage, but from watching this film it becomes very obvious that that is where this story belongs, and although certain musicals have translated very well into films ('the Phantom of the Opera' and 'Hairspray' being two that spring immediatley to mind), this is one of those that I feel should have been left on stage. Saying that however, watching this film has made me very keen to see the musical in it's original format one day, and it is just a shame that it is no longer being shown in the West End.

Whenever Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice get togther for a musical, you know you're going to be in for a treat, and no matter what other reservations I have about this film, there is no doubting that musically, ... Read More:

This is an awful, awful film. The plot is pathetic and makes no sense. In fact it annoyed me whilst watching it because it was so bad. Even my 7 year old got bored and started asking questions about why he was doing this and that. (Arthur that is).

The only good thing about this film is The child actor who plays Arthur who is brilliant and stars in the Spiderwick Chronicles, which is a fantastic film and shouldn't be mentioned in the same breathe as this drivel.

I was tempted to ask for my money back at the end. Don't buy this film don't even watch it when it comes on TV. I'd rather watch ten back to back episodes of The One Show than watch this again, and that's saying something. You've been warned.

Though the story line has been done so many times it's a great film. I'd seen this several times as a teenager and still think of it the same way. This movie really has less to do with Madonna and more to do with Rosanna Arquette.

It's hard to imagine anybody not coming across this film but if you haven't it starts out with Roseanna Arquette who plays Roberta Glass, a bored New Jersey housewife, who constantly follows the on-going relationship of Jim and Susan. One day, Roberta decides that she would really like to meet Susan, so she places an add in the paper, telling Susan to meet Roberta at Battery Park in New York City. Susan (played by Madonna) shows up, but is arrested because of cab fair. Roberta is being harassed by some lunatic. After a ... Read More:

with the possible exception of the pitiful 1971 entry 'DIAMONDS are FOREVER', 'DAD' is easily the most ignoble BOND entry in the entire series: certainly the least credible serving of the 21st Century.

The thrills and spills are frequent enough, but it has all been done so many times before [in infinitely more skilled hands] that this epic shambles serves no real purpose beyond forgettable 'popcorn' thrills: this total production is a monumental waste of film-making potential: at best it is a routine, also-ran entry in the BOND canon; --at worst, it is a hackneyed, cliched abomination of pseudo-cinematic confetti.

In order to inject 'new' scope into the tired [at this point] formulae, we are asked to accept as credible the concept of ... Read More:

Got all 4 sets when they were less than £11.
A pretty comprehensive collection, but should be noted that ALL 4 of these Boxsets contain only 5 discs not 6 or 7 as stated in info section. I was looking forward to the 'making of' & interview extras, ho hum.
Still worth the money.

One of just two of Madonna's films worthy of any critical acclaim - the other being 'Desperately Seeking Susan' of course, and was long overdue when released on DVD.

It's hard to believe now that this movie was made twenty years ago! I challenge anyone to watch this, and not feel great afterwards! Absolutely hilarious, fast-paced and full of action! Like the great music Madonna was making at the time, she should have stuck to this genre in movie-making; it suited her talents far better than the turn to which her acting career later took. I suspect both this film and the aforementioned did not go down as well as her later work, due to the fact they were not full of sex and nudity.

Another great title for this movie could have ... Read More:

Set against 1990's Blond Ambition world tour, 'In Bed With Madonna' gives an inside view into Madonna's world. The film spans the tour from beginning to end and gives glimpses of a world that most stars of Madonna's calibre would rather their fans didn't see.
Whether you believe that this is how Madonna really is or not is irrelevant. The film takes its audience on such an emotional and musical journey that you are left totally spellbound and breathless by the end of it -a Wizard Of Oz for the 90's; and you can't help but liking Madonna just that little bit more by the end of it too. (Just don't let Granny watch that performance of Like A Virgin about half way through the movie though!)

The Girlie Show is one of Madonna's best Tours! And Why is this great? Let's find out.

TRACKLISTING:
The tour is divided into 4 segments and these are:
I.SEX
1.Erotica (this song is what i would call "this is not a madonna song" for me and if you are under 15, skip this disgusting song!)
2.Fever (not as intense as Erotica but 2 gay dancers are dancing with Madonna, acctualy a good cover of PPeggy Lee's)
3.Vogue (lip-syched, due to the heavy headress she wears, very Middl-Eastern, simular to the Ambition's Like A Virgin)
4.Rain/Just My Imagination(this is not-really related to sex, but the song is amazing and steady. Madonna also performs Just My Imagination but I do not know why they decided to do that!)
II.DISCO/70'S ... Read More:

Having just watched this film for the first time, I think a good way to describe it is to compare it to a gig. To start off there are two pretty irrelevant stories by two unknown directors which both leave you thinking 'what's this all about?', kind of like the support act. But they do set the scene for the second half of the movie, showing that Roth as the bellhop is having a real bizarre night. Then the headliners come in, Rodriguez and Tarantino, both producing hugely entertaining and enjoyable short stories which make you really pleased you watched the film. The performances by Roth, Tarantino and Jennifer Beals also help the job... definitely worth watching!!

The Drowned World Tour of 2001 was awaited by all as we heald of breath to see what the new millenium and motherhood had done to Her Majesty The Queen of POp, Madonna.
What resulted was the Drowned World Tour, a stunning array of song, colour, light, and performance beginning in the repressed punk era of the world of sorrow and Travelling down the road to Japanniese culture, country roadshows, and ending with a Holiday.
Tes Madonna didnt disappiont. Her arrival onstage was nothing short of electrifying and must go down as a true piece of musical stagecraft. The whole show right from the costumes to teh singing was fantastical as Madonna embraces her fanbase once more. Yes, her connection with the fans evokes a mind blowing response for the viewer and those critics who said she ... Read More:
