Really good film but I would probably not recommend getting it on Blu-ray as the way it is shot does not lend itself to HD. Sound also quite annoying as speech is very low volume so when you turn it up to hear it you get blasted by the action sequences when they arrive.

Must admit I would recommend the film as it is an extremely good watch. Just question whether worth getting the blu-ray version.

I hate it when people say this film made them feel motion sickness...it just seems ridiculous to me, but I guess I didn't experience such a sensation, so I don't understand it! I also hate it when people say the monster wasn't shown enough, or the film was too short, etc...that's what makes it so realistic!
I found Cloverfield to be a gripping and totally shocking experience! I left the cinema expecting the world outside to be dark and the air full of smoke, with people running around screaming and helicopters flying about. That's how drawn into the film I was, as were my companions!
Totally terrifying, because it felt like I was watching someone's last living moments, a very similar feeling to watching victim's footage of 9/11. ... Read More:

I watched this film on my new Toshiba HD-E1 HD DVD player through a Toshiba 37X3030DB 1080p HD TV last night and couldn't believe how stupid the film is. I received the film at no cost along with another HD title of my choice thanks to Toshiba's offer with the aforementioned HD DVD player.

First of all, it's just a tacky remake of The Perfect Storm (good film) which is a remake of Titanic (excellent film in my view). The plot is so lame it makes one treat it like a comedy - i was laughing most of the way through because there were flaws just about everywhere. For example, how can a drowning passenger (who's practically dead) manage to understand the engine controls of a gigantic cruise ship and then press a myriad of buttons within ... Read More:

DVD : Cloverfield (2 Disc Special Edition)
Like the Matrix 10 years ago Cloverfield has set a new standard for action cinema. Movie snobs often dismiss genre movies like this one as low brow. But the genius of Cloverfield is it's structure; the whole movie is an exercise in keeping an audience on the edge of their seats and it works. Every time it looks like things couldn't possibly get worse they do, then just when things look like they've calmed down a tad the next shock hits. None of which sounds that impressive, until you see just how well it's done here.

Although there's nothing oscar worthy from the cast the films is buoyed along by some convincing performances and humor in particular is played just right: it's funny but not so funny that you relax. The story pulls surprisingly ... Read More:

I thought the premise of the film was a great idea: the story of a woman who discovers that the story of The Graduate was true - and it was her family who were the Robinsons...

But the film never really clicks into gear. Shirley MacLaine is great as the feisty grandmother, but Kevin Costner simply plods through it all. But the biggest mistake was Jennifer Aniston. Yes, she's very easy on the eye; but all she does is 'happy-pouty' or 'sad-pouty' - and that's about the limit of her emotional range. Quite simply she isn't a very good actress. And this film needed a really good female lead to pull it up to the mark.

If you like romantic comedies, this fills a wet Sunday afternoon when you have nothing better to do. Otherwise, don't bother.

Amazing film but not 2 discs as the synopsis says. all the special features are there but not 2 discs. anyway. goreless film but very disturbing but very funny in places. im hoping that tcm 2, 3 and the beggiing will be as good. they won't be but oh well. anywho amazing film which is made by its absolute low budget and amatuer filmmaking style. an absolute classic.

I loved the original Poseidon Adventure, it was a great movie but after 20 years, the film started to show its age, so it was time for the classic to be remade.

I was glad to hear that Wolfgang Peterson was directing the film as he directed 'Das Boot' and 'A Perfect Storm', which were both amazing films and as he was directing the film I had high expectations of 'Poseidon', and it definitely lived up to my expectations.

It is 'New Years Eve' on the 'Poseidon' and shortly after the clock strikes midnight, a enormous rouge wave hits the ship and gets turned upside-down. In the aftermath, a small group of passengers, a professional gambler Dylan (Josh Lucas), former New York mayor Robert (Kurt Russell), a nurse Maggie (Jacinda Barrett), her young son Conner ... Set in the extreme world of competitive American Supercross Leagues, Supercross has hot chicks, hot hunks and hot wheels.

The use of Supercross the motor biking sport, sets a fast pace and leads to some excellent visual stunts that will leave you gasping for breath.

The storyline is powerful and emotional and acted out extremely well by the young, talented and superbly good looking cast.

Even if you are not a supercross fan you will be after watching this great film, it truly is a non stop high energy ride!

A complete waste of money, avoid at all costs, here's why:

***CONTAINS SPOILLERS***

Dispite what the review says, this is nothing like ground hog day, every time Ian Stone is killed he doesn't have to re-live the same day again, he is transported to another reality. For example he starts off as a hockey played, dies and comes back as himself but as a cab driver.

The first few deaths are interesting, we then find out that Ian is being hunted by monsters, the following deaths are usually the result of him being gutted by them.

These monsters are essentialy "boogey men" the film trys to glorify them by refering to them as "like vampires" but the feed on fear.

I wont mention the films only plot twist but Ian becomes able to finght ... Read More:
