series 1 started off everything(makes sense)but seriously if it weren't for the success of this series then the show wouldn't have survived...thanks to the amazing writers and crew behind it and some fab actors.
eppy guide-
Rose-4/5-the start...and what a great start it is too...Billie Piper CAN act as the great Rose Tyler and the Autons are very creepy.
The end of the world-4/5-very good all round episode tht boasts some amazing visuals.
the unquiet dead-4/5-very scary episode with some terrifying zombies...and the doctor meets Charles Dickens.
Aliens of London-2/5-a decent episode but not fantastical...contains the infamous big ben crash scene...but not much else.
World War Three-2.5/5-slightly better but ... Read More:

having found the christmas special and New Earth reasonably enjoyable,i decided that series 1 couldn't be beaten...i was totally wrong...David Tennant is the greatest doctor of them all,and he just kept improving throughout this series.
these are without a doubt the greatest episodes in series 2,and i even prefer these to the finale(Doomsday).

Tooth & Claw-a genuinly rewarding experience,Russel T.Davies has written a mini-horror film, and unlike the movies this werewolf is very scary and artistic to look at...i personally feel that this is the best episode he wrote of series 2 as it combines the humour, stunts and scares needed in an episode of Doctor Who,and Rose isn't all lovy dovy with the Doc in this episode(thank god!!!)but the chemistry ... All three series of Auf Wiedersehen Pet were very much "state of the nation" stuff. The first series showed a country crippled by a socialist government, the second series the changes Thatcherism brought and the third one now shows a world changed completely by the post 1989 events. The lads have all fallen on hard luck: Dennis is reduced to chaufeuring a drug dealer around, Neville's marriage is on the rocks and his business is failing, Wayne is dead, Bomber is terminally ill, Moxy wanted by the police (nothing new there) and Barry is married to a two timing Russian gold digger. To regain their self respect (and some money) they embark on a business venture orchestrated by a shady ex-politician ( a thinly disguised Jeffrey Archer). But Auf Wiedersehen is not just ... Undoubtedly Dame Margaret Rutherford's greatest movie - looking surprisingly young, slim and energetic, and with a waistline of someone half her age! Here she plays the somewhat 'cranky' and eccentric Madame Arcati in Noel Coward's hilarious comedy. Also stars a plummy-voiced Kay Hammond whose voice can get a little irritating after awhile. The marvellous Joyce Carey who was blessed with perennial youth plays the hapless Mrs. Bradman, who is always putting her foot in it! Constance Cummings and Rex Harrison play the unfortunate married couple who are haunted by the ghost of a previous dead spouse - Harrison playing very much himself here, and with an uncannily resemblance to the character 'Higgins' that he was to play some twenty years later in 'My Fair Lady'; conceited ... It's probably unfair to expect quality drama from a Christmas special, but The Christmas Invasion doesn't even compare with subsequent Christmas episodes. Admittedly it has to deal with the introduction of a new Doctor, always a knotty problem. In the 60s and 70s we'd simply have a regeneration and a couple of scenes with the new Doctor being a bit unpredictable before getting on with the story. In the 80s, and here, we have the new Doctor sit out most of the story because his regeneration has gone wrong/he's unstable/he can't be bothered (delete as applicable). The story itself, such as it is, is a very light runaround for the younger members of the family with a scary monster being bad and the Doctor talking in funny voices, quoting The Lion King and doing something with fruit. Big question: ... Read More:

The Idiot's Lantern is by far the worst Dr Who episode ever made. If I wanted to watch a house full of squabbling, cliched & over-sterotyped characters I would watch an episode of Neighbours. But I'm being too harsh on Neighbours - even at its worst, the characters in Neighbours have more depth and are more believable than those that bicker their way through The Idiot's Lantern. I suppose this was supposed to be some kind of social commentary - but setting up a strawmen like Eddie, just to kick him down, is a puerile way to make a point. This episode is a disgrace to the Dr Who series :( The Rise of the Cybermen and the Age of Steel are worth a watch if you like the Cybermen.

I have been watching Auf Weidershen Pet since the day it was first show on TV and I felt it somewhat sad that the Special will be the last time that we see the "lads" doing what they do best, making us all feel good. For those Aufpet fans out there they could not have asked for a better ending to a absolutly wonderful series that has given them so much joy over the past 20 years.
