i cant believe i nearly bought this set 10days ago but decided to postpone my order until next month, it was around 50£ now its 35£ my heart nearly blinked talk about a bargain, i'm gonna order it now coz i doubt it will or can go any further down..lol..

This film sees Julia Stiles in her normal earlier film role, the talented yet somewhat reserved character who hides either a striking beauty or inner talent that is reluctantly (but eventually stunningly) brought to the fore for all to see. She plays a young ballet dancer called who's mother dies in a crash going to see her audition which she fails to impress at. She is forced to go and live with her father who is a down-and-out character living in a dingy flat. That said, he does not fit into the normal "drunk" character he appears to be when we first meet him. He is portrayed as someone who has not had much luck in life and wants a second chance. I first watched this film as a 13 year old girl at school and i loved it then and sitting down today i was as good now as it was then. I was amazed by the acting of a young Helena Bonham Carter. Well wotha watch if you enjoy period films!!

John Boorman's 1981 film is an exercise in how to treat fantasy in an adult and serious manner. The fantasy elements are subtle - there are no stop motion monsters to be found here - and yet still pervade the movie with a sense of the magical & arcane. This film in no way attempts a realistic approach to the extent of 2004's King Arthur. Merlin as portrayed here is dark & ambiguous, constantly aware of the end of the time of magic & the old gods. A very eccentic performance by the excellent Nicol Williamson. Helen Mirren as the evil & seductive sorceress, Morgana gives an erotically charged performance that is not easily forgotten! When a 12 year old black girl is raped, beaten and almost murdered by two racist, redneck pigs, the little girl's father shoots both of them dead whilst they are being taken to trial. He committed murder, he is as guilty as sin and nobody believes otherwise. On the contrary in fact, the main question in this film is whether a black man should be allowed to take vengeance against whites. I had the original videos for years. Read the books by Robert Graves until the covers fell off. Five stars apart from BB What a ham. He lets his generation down and should never have been included in the cast. The rest of the cast are jewels of their age not so BB Glad to see he is no longer heard of.Up Pompei would have loved him Learn politics watch this

I recieved this season for christmas. I have not been disappointed with it. The storylines are incredible and complicated. Sometimes, you wonder how things can return to normal. It is compulsive viewing. The picture quality is higher on this series than in any of the previous ones. This is the first series when computer animation is heavily used and it has been sucsessful. This series really makes you want to buy the next series so watch it or you'll end up with all 7 series. Compulsive viewing and highly recommended.

There are plenty of cracking episodes on this set. The presentation is superb, with an LCARS type of menu system on the DVD (you feel like you're at an Enterprise console when choosing your episodes!), and a looped "engine sound" "docking bay" before you "engage" the episode :). The episode that sticks in my mind most is the one entitled "Phantasms". The way the sense of insecurity builds throughout the episode makes it the most scary TNG I have seen. It also brings a whole new meaning to the concept of "Alien Abduction". Another superb treat is "Relics", which, again, unfolds piece by piece to present a superb "tapestry" of a story, detailing the origins of all life in this galaxy. Great stuff and heartily recommended for all Trekkies, especially at this price and quality.
