DVD : The Loveless [1982]
This is a very low budget film starring Willem Dafoe and Rockabilly legend Robert Gordon.
There`s not much of a story, the film is basically shot at just four locations and the acting is`nt hollywood, but this film strangly works..It could have easily been shot in 1956 ( you won`t find a thing out of place). It`s dark, disturbing and very atmospheric.
This movie has developed cult status and if you are a Rockabilly rebel or a Harley fan then this flick is an absolute must for your collection.
Iv`e given the movie 5 stars due to it`s accuracy in portraying the 1950`s and its cult status.
Pure biker rockabilly bliss !

I've always loved this movie since I saw it on video many years ago. I finally got around to buying the DVD and watched it with a group of friends recently. Without exception, the guys loved it and the girls hated it!

You can see why. It's basically the story of a rich, talented guy who works his way through a string of short term relationships with beautiful women whilst acting like a complete jerk. In other words, he is the kind of guy that most guys want to be and most women claim to hate.

Comedy-wise, for the first half of the movie the laughs come from amusing banter, with our hero dishing out put downs and caustic comments to all around him (and suffering more than a few himself). The movie then goes into more of ... Read More:

I've watched this movie about three times, and it always gets me to watch it to the end.The maniac farmer as some witty lines and it is a gory little film, but a true one...
The sole surviver was seperated from the girls when drugged,so how would he know what happened, which is most of the gory bits...
A good little film from australia.

Unintentionally hysterically funny with wooden performances and the kind of script that a high school student would be ashamed of and yet oddly drugs education in movies is still a limited genre tending towards the exploitative and sensational. This is just plain silly and too bad to be any kind of good. Best thing about it is the reproduction of the original film design on the box cover

Great idea-a mental asylum holding it's most dangerous inmates behind an electric security system-and then one night-POWERCUT!-Great cast-Jack Palance, Martin Landau, Donald Pleasence- Expected a lot from this movie & was really disappointed after watching it-I love horror movies but this was really nothing special despite other reviews.
