Although I am not the greatest Harry Potter fan in the world I have always enjoyed the film series and thankfully this film continues this trend. The Order of the Phoenix sees the dark lord Voldemort gathering his forces but with the Ministry of Magic refusing to acknowledge his return Harry and his friends must defy the Ministry in order to prepare for the coming war. Complicating matters is Ms Umbridge, the Ministry appointed Defence from the Dark Arts teacher, who is willing to do anything for the Ministry of Magic.

I haven't read any of the Potter books as yet and as such I cannot comment about how closely this film sticks to the book and I have heard mixed reports on the subject. Nevertheless I do feel that the film fits ... Read More:

I have seen this film on Sky box office HD today And omg its brilliant and it was worth it for £3.99. Colin Farrell just keeps getting better as the film goes on. but what i find upsetting in this movie is a lot of homophobic swearing. as i am a gay male (21) i find this really offensive. but overall this movie was great and Colin Farrell is so hot and a sexy hunk. I am going to buy this on dvd soon as i want to watch it again in a few weeks. if you have not seen this movie then i sugest you buy this as its worth every money.

I give this film 10/10

I'd been wanting to see this film for ages but never got around to it, i bought it about a week and a half ago, looking at the reverse i was schoked at the fact that it was 3 hours long! I have a really short attention span, and it was also in black and white, which i thought would put me off. Usually i watch films and work through them or talk to friends nose around on teh computer etc but after watching about half an hour of this film i couldn't tear myself away, i completely neglected my laptop for the next two and a half hours! it didn't get boring at all and i didn't even notice it wasn't in black and white. All though we all know of the tragic events of the holocaust watching it unfold in front of you through spielberg's magic doesn't fail to shock ... All of the movies released so far are excellent. I see that other reviewers have covered the story line very well, so I will not. Just let me say that all are very well done, with minor imperfections. The main problems are only two. The first problem is that the books are so massive that pieces have to be left out, this is a shame but I do think that to make a 4 hour movie of these books would make them very tiring to sit through. I had thought of maybe making a part 1 and then 2 but this would not help. This boxed set is the single dvd version of each story, I would prefer the 2 disk versions personally. I have the separately released versions of each movie and am very satisfied with all. The second problem is the acting of the three principals. In ... Read More:

Book 5 of the Potter series is rather gloomy. Harry is feeling alienated, nightmarish and insecure, and Voldemort is rising in power. However, what worked extremely well for the book, works a bit against the film. A film is a different means of communication from a book and to strive to follow the book too closely is to do an injustice to both.

In this case the gloom drips off the screen and almost takes over everything else. Aside from the end there is little suspense, the much needed comic relief is scarce and even the characters seem only to be partly present. The film focuses a lot on Harry, but does not always reflect his feelings very well. Hermione and especially Ron are reduced to minor characters with little to say, and other minor characters, ... We bought this in 2005, but watched it extremely rarely, until just under a month ago, we started watching it again. It's a typical movie but not the best. It's worth a watch. But if you want to laugh your socks off while watching a movie get Cheaper by the Dozen or Over the Hedge.

Thanks for reading this review.

I love the Harry Potter books and enjoy all the films. The only problem is that as the books are getting longer more & more is getting cut out when they're made into films. I'd rather have this film longer & have all the story in. Still fantastic though!

Upto now I have quietly enjoyed the first 3 movies although they were nothing special. In previous reviews I gave all of them 3/5 and to be honest up until the final 20 minutes I was about to award the same for 'the Goblet of Fire'. The finale' certainly makes this film and we see Lord Voldermort at his evil best. Actually, it is a darker more absorbing film than the others and carries on in a similar vien to 'The Prisoner of Askaban'. The downside to this film is that it does drag on for a bit but that doesnt really bother you until you watch it again. For your children, they will find this scarier than the others .... but not too scary. Enjoyable for kids, enjoyable for adults.

It is an interesting film, but not more than that. What does it shows? That the English were particularly sectarian during WW2 on the African front. Nothing new under the sun. Anyone who had a slightly different name or a slightly surprising or uncommon attitude was at once considered as a spy unworthy of any trust. This created myriads or even legions of misunderstandings and human errors along with cruelty, barbaric acts, violence, etc. The only interest of this film is the technical brilliance in the use of flashbacks that only happen in the head of this English patient who plays the loss of his memory to protect himself against his own name and his own ascendants. Yet his survival is not possible and the nurse who is looking after him is little by little led to being convinced by ... Read More:

Do me a favour, I cannot believe that this film has such high aclaim. It fails to draw you in and get in touch with any of the characters. I have already wasted 2 hours of my life watching this drivel so I dont want to waste any more time even talking about it. This should have been a straight to video film.
