Series 3 is sort of uneven - three standout episodes that are strong enough to overwhelm the lazy, self indulgent strand running through all six. The main problem for me was that they brought to the fore those wonderful details that added unique texture in series 1 & 2. For example, crimping. Before crimping had a name, it was something that cropped up every now and then in a natural, brilliant sort of way. In series three there's an entire episode dedicated to crimping. Knowing it's something that can be taught, can be practiced and even copied just sorta cheapened it. Why do I pay my licence fee to the BBC so that they can make this utter dross and drivel?? Can someone actually tell me why this is apparently funny? What is there to get?? They try to be surreal, but it's all been done before (Vic and Bob anyone?? The Goodies, Monty Python etc etc) and far better. Noel Fielding is just about to disappear up his own backside, yep, there he goes, I spotted his hand waving as he went. As for the other bloke, I don't even know why he's in it. Does he??! Nope, this is about as funny as having an ingrowing toenail taken off with no anasthaetic. Mind you, watching this mind-numbingly boring tosh might just negate the need for it!! I heard Bob Mortimer describe the Mighty Boosh's comedy as "joyous" and immediately realised that thats what makes it SO good. You're just watching naturally funny people on the same wavelength having a laugh, with some surreal plots and crazy costumes thrown in...and its the best comedy you'll ever see.

Before buying this UMD, I had never even heard of the Mighty Boosh. This was the first UMD I ever bought, and at such a low price, I couldn't have complained even if I didn't like it. It turned out however, that I grew to love it, watching Howard and Vince (The geezer with the fabulous hairdo) go on strange yet wonderful adventures that get them into all sorts of hilarious situations. I really did think this was a good buy, just hope they bring out Series 2 on UMD soon...
