The only reason you should not buy this box set is that it will consume your life. If you have caught an episode on UK TV (although unlikely due to ridiculous late night scheduling) the commercial breaks detract from the fast paced delivery which is a cornerstone of the programme. Be warned, I have found it almost impossible to watch just one episode at a time. The friend who recommended the West Wing to me was given the first series on DVD for Xmas and watched 11 episodes back to back. On Xmas day! With his wife equally enhtralled! His daughter was pretty much left to fend for herself. It really does draw you in like no other programme I have seen. I laughed. I cried. I spent entire days watching nothing but WW. If only the real White house ... Read More:

Tony Blair is said to have liked this series and wished he could have had a prime minister's office run like the 'west wing'. Enough said.

I really, really loved the book and I really love the film. No book translates exactly to the big screen. We have already cemented the characters, locations etc in our minds. Its sometimes difficult to get your head around someone elses interpretation to film.

The characters are good. I couldnt relate to Harold in the film though. In the book he was an overwieght geek, not a slim guy in a leather jacket, but hey.

Ah hell! If you like Stephen King then you will like this. Its dark, comic, romantic, scary. Something for everyone then! he he ;)

Starting out with a special episode made after September 11th 2001, this season has a lot going for it. For the third time in a row the series got an Emmy for outstanding drama series, and it is well-earned. Plot. Lines. Acting. It's all good. "Only" five Emmys this time, but in my opinion the third season ranks among the most entertaining, as the diversity between the episodes is high; the plot is hurled back and forth between issues foreign and domestic before you can blink. One minute you're watching a legislative battle on the hill, the next you find yourself in a very real war. The White House fights off MS accusations and launches a campaign for re-election while fighting both a hostile Congress and a world full of enemies. In a fight between the good guys and the ... The very best season of the series takes off in rocket pace after the season 1 cliffhanger of the shooting at Roslyn. It continues with some of the best acting I have ever seen on any screen. Janel Moloney's performance, the look on Donna's face when she learns Josh has been shot is nothing short of breathtaking. And likewise, Brad Whitford's portrayal of Josh' post traumatic stress disorder in "Noël" (quite possibly the best episode of the entire series) is equally captivating. We also get some good flashbacks, showing us how the gang got together in the first place.

While recovering from those events, political life ensues, and brings the now well-known Emily Procter into her first major TV role as a republican attorney given a job at the democratic White House. ... Read More:

This movie is considered as one of the famous 80s "Brat Pack" movies, since it featured some well-known actors and actresses of the 80s "Brat Pack", such as Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy and Emilio Estevez.
However, it is very different from their other movies, so it's wrong to think that if you liked the others, then you'll like St Elmo's Fire, too.
St Elmo's Fire is not a teen movie, it's a movie about young adults who have just left school and who are trying to find their place in the adult's world. It's about different expectations and hopes young adults have, their goals, and how they are trying to achieve them (more or less successfully). By the end of the movie they have all realized that being an adult is not as easy and great as they thought when they left school. ... Read More:

Mike Myers is a comic genius with this trilogy of films that catapults sexy starlets - Liz Hurley (grrrr), Heather Graham (grrrrr) and Beyonce (grrrrr) - against Austin's evil nemesis, aptly named Dr Evil and played by Myers together with a cast of henchmen including Frau Farbissina, Scott evil, Mini-me (a one-eighth clone of Dr Evil), Fat Bastard (also Myers) and the wonderful 'No.2', played by Rob Lowe and robert Wagner (young/older).

The plots are fantastical but no worse than a lot of bond films, the costumes superb, the music authentic(especially the specially put together band Ming Tea which feature Myers on lead and The Bangles' Suzannah Hoffs) and Austin's teeth a great ad for braces.

Michael York is wonderfully camp as Basil Exposition, whose character ... Read More:

"I just need to pay the mortgage. Aside: The Yuppie Nuremberg Defense."
- Nick Naylor in Thank you for Smoking

Because of a fellow reviewer's comment, I decided to watch THANK YOU FOR SMOKING. Aaron Eckhart plays Nick Naylor who is a VP and "chief talking head" for the Academy of Tobacco Studies.

The Academy is supposed to research the link between nicotine and cancer. Who would have thought that they would never find any connection?

Nick gets himself into trouble with his "flexible morals" and his errant lobbying ways; but never loses the support of his young son Joey, played by Cameron Bright (despite what his ex wife calls his "dependency issues").

This is a great satirical piece; it was based upon a novel by Christopher Buckley ... Read More:

Mike Myers (Shrek) writes and stars in this spy spoof sequel as Dr Evil travels back to the 60's to steal Austin's mojo in a plan to take over the world.

International man of mystery was excellent, goofy yet sophisticated with daft humour and interesting characters and a real comedy take on the spy genre. This critically acclaimed sequel follows the same route with the same weird and wonderful central protagonist Austin Powers who has a new sidekick, Felicity Shagwell, played with some charm by Heather Graham.

Myers also throws in an array of new characters, all comically arranged for extra humour, such as Mini Me, Fat B*****d and Robin Spitz Swallows, all interesting and crude in their own way, a useful technique in the spoof genre.

Though lacking the sophistication ... Read More:
