The reason that these movies are so popular is because there is a little bit of Indiana Jones in all of us. We enjoy the mystery of cloak and dagger, the excitement of exploring new places, the fun of discovery and the adventurous spirit that is deep rooted in all of us.

George Lucas and Stephen Spielberg were able to tap into their own psyche as boys and have done an exceptional job of bringing our dreams to life in the form of a character appropriately named...Indiana Jones!

Harrison Ford is an exceptional actor who brings to the screen exactly the right mix of excitement, entertainment, fun and spiced with a bit of tongue and cheek. The majority of the supporting actors in these series are no slouches either. ... Read More:

You are in for the ride of your life! If you love adventure, romance, murder, mystery and intrigue this movie is for you. It has it all.

The expectations were high when George Lucas and Steven Spielberg got together to make this movie. They set the bar a couple of notches higher with this film.

What boy or man hasn't dreamed of finding lost treasure? And what girl or woman hasn't dreamed of a dark mysterious man who literally sweeps her off her feet and takes her for an adventure she never forgets.

From the opening scene where Indiana Jones finds a small gold statue and almost gets crushed by a giant bolder to finding of the lost arc of the covenant we follow our hero and his romantic interest through ... Read More:

On first watching `Blackadder II' I found it a big disappointment as I was a big fan of `The Black Adder'. That the episodes were virtually entombed in sitcom set's lost some of the depth of the first series which was mainly shot on location on film. Also that the stories were more traditional sitcom farce and underplayed the historical significance of some of the characters seemed a wasted opportunity. The shift from Medieval to Elizabethan England was possibly a bigger jar but the transition was harmonised by the Shakespeare connections.

Subsequent re-watching bears out this shift from the original series but it makes up for these shortcomings by a sharper script and by making Edmund the dominant character with Baldrick as a hapless assistant The ... Read More:

Flesh and Blood is a 1985 movie by Paul Verhoeven, the director who is most notable for his sci-fi films such as Robocop, Total Recall and Starship Troopers. In this film he turns his attention to the late Medieval/early Renaissance era with an adventure that follows a group of Landsknecht mercenaries.

It is 1501, and war is raging in Italy. Arnolfini, a rich and powerful warlord is besieging an enemy town. Assisting Arnolfini's army is Captain Martin and his band of mercenary thugs. When Martin's troops are victorious in taking the town, Arnolfini betrays them and confiscates all their loot for himself - booting Martin's men out of the town in the process.
Martin's soldiers find themselves wandering aimlessly through the countryside until they ... Read More:

I saw this on video when I was working through all the sci-fi stuff in my local rental store and I wish I hadn't.

The story is naff, the acting wooden. There is nothing good about this film.

Even the end is spoilt by "Look out for Buckaroo Banzai in ..."!

You mean they made more than one!

Shame amazon don't allow negative scores

Evidently this is supposed to be some sort of black comedy. Unless you like keystone cops, there is not much comedy; it is more of a surrealistic missing of the mark.

Michael Crawford "A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum" (1966), is supposed to be some sort of inept WWII officer. This film is full of colorful characters (painted red, blue and whatever).

There are a lot of noisy overlapping claptrap and gobbledygook statements. It is unique enough not to be anything. The only thing missing are the Muppets.

You would be much better off watching "What Did You Do in the War, Daddy?" (1966) It has a moral and redeeming social value.

This is the one sword and sorcerery film that all the people I know have seen. I didn't see it until I got it for Christmas but within my circle of friends it is a cult classic (which is suprising considering they're mostly male and this is a girly movie). Centuries before the Spice girls Red sonja gave the world girl Power, and then some! Silly but enjoyable stuff.

With Alan Bates how could this not be a fabulous version of The Mayor of Casterbridge! Again, English theatre at its very best. Wonderful storyline, brilliant acting and the English countryside - who could ask for more.
