Blake's 7 moves up a notch with the excellent second series which contains some superb and very dramatic episodes. The second half of the season contains a continuing theme which is the search for Star One abd the characters continue to develop, with Blake becoming more obsessive and driven, and Avon starting to play a more prominent role. Brain Croucher takes over the role of baddy Travis and is unfortunately the weak link in this series, being not a patch on Stephen Greif's menacing portrayal, but Jacqueline Pearce has much more to do as ice queen Servalan and is a joy to watch. The stand out episodes here are the drug-themed Shadow, Pressure Point in which a key character is killed, Trial and the season finale Star One, which is possibly ... Read More:

sid james is the kind of person who you wish was still here today, there was just something about the man which makes you smile, the face and the yak yak laugh was made for fish & chips style british comedy. bless this house the movie is still a good laugh, sid plays "sidney abbott" the head of the abbott household, his main problems in life revolve around his two kids mike & sally (robin askwith & judy geeson) who constantly cause him loads of trouble. there's lots of funny moments in the movie,i like the scene where sid has a cake fight with his snooty neighbour (played by the great "terry scott") other good performances come from peter butterworth, june whitfield and patsy rowlands. it's a good spin off from the still funny bless this house tv ... DVD : Obsession [1949]

Great movie starring Robert Newton (the man with the handsome eyes!)

A Doctor catches his wife having an affair for the umpteenth time. This time he's had enough of her cheating and intends to do something about it and so plans the 'perfect murder'. As always, something goes amiss, and with the help of a loveable little dog, there's a great big spanner thrown into the works!

Stars Naunton Wayne as the man who has to solve the mystery.

Great and above average 1940s British Classic!

DVD : The Final Curtain [2003]
This film is quite simply brilliant. Peter O'Toole delivers a wonderfully over the top performance as declining television legend JJ Curtis, while the supporting cast, especially Aidan Gillen are on top form. Its dark, satirical look at tabloid obsessions with tv personalities combined with the hilarious rivalry between JJ Curtis and dominant newcomer Dave Turner ensures that there are laughs a plenty. Put simply, The Final Curtain is a very intelligent and enjoyable film which you will want to watch more than once. The only drag for me was the lack of any interesting special features, hence the four stars. But don't let that put you off watching this contemporary classic!
