This movie is an unimaginative, disjointed, incomprehensible waste of time. Very poorly edited, it's a real botched version of Pullman's story which is itself far, far less 'special' than most Amazon reviewers would have you believe. If my child was entertained by this dross, I'd be concerned! I'm just glad I didn't pay to see it.

Ghost Rider was 'THE' American comic I always bought (and wished I'd kept them). This is nothing like the comics apart from he 'changes' to the Ghost rider and back. What I remember is the fight to remain Human, hating becoming the demon and the demon, Zarathos, hating becoming Johnny Blaze. Zarathos having his own personality, two separate beings locked in one body always looking for control. Hope they don't do another one, shame.
I would like to see them make 'Luke Cage & Iron Fist', if done well, could be made it to a TV series.

I love the book, its well written with a great storyline.
The film however is completely terrible. Some of the worst acting ive ever seen, ridiculous direction and any of the bits that arent straight quotes from the book (which leaves little) are written awfully.
In all, I can't think of a film ive seen that ive hated this much.
I seriously recommend you don't see this, this includes if you are doing it for A-Level. It really doesnt help.

Nothing special to add to all the other ambivalent encomia already shovelled onto this mess of a film. Lots of good ingredients that add up to nothing but unintended laughs.

Fast cars, explosions, naked chicks for the guys, naked Swayze for the girls (and for Swayze himself), and of course, superb fight sequences. The story and the total absence of police are simply ludicrous.

Funny thing is, when Dalton's bouncer-mentor turns up to help, about halfway through the movie, he's so much cooler than Dalton you want to skip the plot and just tag along with him. An opportunity wasted.

Definitely one to put with other films you reckon are good because they're bad.

This is one of those films that is far better than the reviews suggest. Essentially a comic book horror western, all of the cast, especially Cage, Elliott and Fonda give good performances in an enjoyable and none too serious romp. The effects are excellent and this blu-ray letterbox transfer looks and sounds stunning at 1080p (in a different league from the DVD). Extras are the same as those on the equivalent extended cut DVD and include a commentary and featurettes. At the time of writing this BD was going for the price of peanuts - well worth the small investment if you are prepared to go with the flow and enjoy it at face value. The disc is coded A-B-C.

Prancer is a story that will warm the hearts of both children and adults alike. It all takes place around a little girl called Jessie and her firm belief in all that makes christmas is real. When she finds a hurt reindeer, Jessie is certain that it is Prancer, one of Santas reindeer and she makes it her mission to look after him and nurse him back to health. Throughout this enchanting tale, she encounters numerous people and changes their opinion on christmas and the magic that goes hand in hand with it. Some people may be critical of it and find it a little to soppy, but it captures everything christmas stands for and the how ,children enjoy the magic of it all. I would recommend this to anyone, who wants a nice winter tale to warm the heart.

America tries to take over where France failed in Vietnam. US soldiers prepare for combat, using new idea of 'air cav' -- i.e. helicopters. They say goodbye to their wives. They fly out to the 'Valley of Death'. Many get killed as the Vietnamese almost overrun their position. Wives of dead soldiers receive telegrams. The US counter-attack, aided by much air support. America withdraws, believing it has won the battle.

That's the basic story. After so many films about US adventures in the Far East -- 'The Thin Red Line', 'Apocalypse Now', 'Platoon', 'Full Metal Jacket' etc -- I feel this film adds nothing to our understanding of war, although it's useful to see the highly organised, subterranean approach of the North Vietnamese strategists. Jason Reitman should be pleased as punch with his superb directorial debut about a spokesman working for the American tobacco industry. The script simply bursts with wit, rich dialogue and snappy satirical shifts and it is anchored by a fabulous performance from the excellent Aaron Eckhart as Nick Naylor, a disarming spin doctor who defends his amoral employers against the most damning of odds.

I hugely enjoyed this film and it is piercingly funny in places, often cutting quite close to the bone. As morally ambiguous as Naylor is, Eckhart plays him with such consummate charm that you almost find yourself cheering him on, as he campaigns for people's right to smoke (incidentally, the film has some very insightful things to say about free speech and our right ... DVD : Tombstone [1993]
Tombstone is an immensely enjoyable western. And this version - the Vista series / Director's Cut - is the best one to get. I ordered it from the USA and it came in immaculate condition in an amazingly short time; but what's on it?

There are 3 bite sized featurettes (about 10 mins each): An Ensemble Cast; Making An Authentic Western; The Gunfight at the OK Corral. There is an Interactive Timeline of the actual events as they took place, Director's Storyboards, an Actual Newspaper Account (which you navigate around to read in your own time), a DVD-Rom featuring the game of Faro (the game Wyatt Earp runs in the film), also a fold out map of the actual layout of Tombstone including the OK Corral, an Insert booklet and not least - a director's commentary by Goerge P Cosmatos. ... Gritty oater chronicles the hardship of frontier life as steely widow Evie(Katherine Ross)and her two children stranded in Indian country through tragic circunstances attempt to make the best of it by becoming a rest stop for the stagecoaches that pass through.Into their life comes Conn Conagher(Sam Elliott)a cowboy who forms an "attachment" to them but is wary of settling down especially when he takes sides with an aged landowner who is being persecuted by rustlers.
Real life husband and wife Elliott and Ross shine in tailor made parts, the story moves briskly with several unpredictable moments and as with all good ensemble pieces the minor characters are nicely shaded and add to the proceedings.
Nothing original and J A C Redford's score can be a little intrusive at times but the location ... Read More:
