Another movie that copies Tarantino's style and is a lot better. I was so surprised when I got this film, expecting more or less and average film at best. Lucky No. Slevin is hilarious and full of unexpected plot twists and great ideas. An excellent cast, including Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and Ben Kingsley make this film one of the best in recent years.

I am happy to give this film a good review because I was not holding out much hope for it being brilliant. I really liked it though, it was gentle and touching without being a typical chick flick and there was a genuine feeling of sadness surrounding Jennifer Garner's widowed character. A good movie to make you appreciate life and all the people in it, friends and lovers.

You always fear for a film when the cover comes with a 'from the writer of....' recommendation (in this case 'of Erin Brokovich'). Whilst its not quite in that league, 'Catch and Release' is a surprisingly enjoyable movie, not really a romantic comedy - more of an engaging, gently paced, lighthearted romantic drama. Jennifer Garner gives a very good performance as the girl whose fiance dies just before their wedding and moves in with his best mates as the circle of friends closes in to protect her following her loss and some unexpected revelations regarding the dead fiance. Timothy Olyphant also gives an excellent performance as the somewhat enigmatic, likeable character who turns up at unexpected moments to provide a new romantic interest, ably supported by Kevin ... I'm glad I've never seen the trailer since it sounds as if it would completely remove any element of surprise.

I bought this simply because I recalled a good review somewhere but all i knew was WWII/Willis/Farrell/POW really and the blurb on the back was brief to the point of secrecy. After only a few minutes though i was transfixed and remained for the next 120 minutes or so. The attention to detail, atmosphere, characterisation, plot twists are first class. It's real antidote to The Great Escape, the feeling of desperation, discomfort and sheer degredation of being a POW are starkly portrayed. The real surprise was Bruce Willis's underplaying and intensity allowing Colin Farrell the floor and elevating him to the real star turn. The other characters ... Read More:
