This was a firm favourite of mine as a teenager, due mainly to the plethora of brilliantly quotable lines (teenagers,eh?) But it is still just as original, funny, strange and clever as it ever was, with a great cast of actors, the role of a lifetime for Nicolas Cage, which i'm sure helped him break out and be considered a very versatile actor, and of course the ever fantastic Holly Hunter, plus some wonderful supporting players. The Cohen brothers may of gone on and honed their craft as film makers, but they have never beaten Raising Arizona for laughs.

This film was one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life!
A total waste of time, effort and of course money!
It was rubbish.
I am telling you: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!

When is this action classic going to get a Region 2 release??!!!
Action packed, violent, great stunts & a REALLY good biker vibe!
One of the best of it's type (and let's be honest it's a small genre!) so let's have it please!
It's not at the level of Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior but for bikes & car chases & violent gunplay while on wheels then Stallone's 1986 Cobra would be a very fair comparison!
There are some cool actors here; Lance Henriksen (this guy can always make an average movie very watchable) & William Forsythe as the principal biker bad guys. Henriksen's portrayal of the definitive one percenter, Chains is one of his most memorable!
It's worth picking this up on Region 1 at worst if you can PLAY it - I'll have to ... Read More:

DVD : C.H.U.D. [1984] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
This is one of those low budget oddities that surfaced on home video in the eighties and developed a cult following among horror fans as well as people curious to see early performances from Daniel Stern and John Goodman. Mutant tramps living under new-york city are beggining to venture to the surface to find fresh meat, speading panic amongst the city's homeless population, a cop, a soup-kitchen worker and a professional photographer begin to investigate the mystery. Anchor bay's disc is great, with the best transfer I have seen yet and the film itself has been re-edited and presented as the director intended. The commentary track is both fun and informative and the disc also includes a superb easter egg. At the prices i've seen this go for on amazon this is an essential purchase ... Read More:

DVD : L.A. Story [1991]
This film is a classic because it works on many levels. Stupid jokes sit comfortably alongside comedic pearls of wisdom. Slapstick set pieces give way to real moments of moving self unawareness portrayed by the likable main characters. Surreal sight gags give us small insights into life in L.A, fondly puncturing the very ridiculousness of it at the same time as thinly veiling Martins' absolute love for the city in which he grew up. Martin delivers classic lines with his usual straight-laced collar-loosening agitism. Richard E Grant is both pompous and lovable as the Englishman abroad and Sarah Jessica Parker is joyous in a very early career role. A GREAT film highly recommended. Get it.

It was probably about two years ago now that i first saw the last half of this film on TV and i remember how funny and entertaining i had found it. When i then saw that it was on again i just knew that i had to watch it and see if it still had the same appeal, even though i was a few years older. And i will say that if anything, it was better than the first time i saw it.

It's about a man called Ray Gleason who is a crook trying to go straight, however him and his two buddies decide to do one last robbery, a hoard of coins worth over one million dollars. However, halfway through their plans, Ray's son Timmy turns up unexpectedly and he has other ideas about what to do with the coins.

The film has not only got a very original storyline, but it is also very funny, and ... Read More:

Unfortunately there are no other films quite like this one, if there was was films would be in general a whole lot funnier. A uniquely bizzare plot, superb acting and tons of laugh-out-loud scenes make this one a must see movie.
