While there were some things about this series that had me pulling my hair out! I actually did enjoy this series. I am really into the Tudor history and I do know my fact from fiction. The part about Princess Margaret Tudor marrying with a Portuguese King left me thinking "Why OH Why"! Maybe eventually TV producers will listen and actually stick to fact. It seems crazy not to when the facts are just as exciting! It is sad that this has taken some of the gloss away from what is actually a really well made series. Take it for what it is, there is still some historical ACCURACY in there and I like the fact they actually gave a mention to Henry's sisters, who both had amazing lives and are largely left out of all Tudor films completely ... Having only just watched this film for the first time last night I was intrigued to see what others had written about it because for me it was a real mixed bag. To my shame I didn't really know the story of Merlin and King Arthur etc so was interested to watch from a factual point of view and my toddler did get up in the middle of it all and wandered about making lots of noise so it was difficult to follow everything (must watch again) but the story was really really good, very gripping and some of the acting was excellent particulary from Jason Done (who again to my shame I have never heard of) who played Mordred, King Arthur's illegitimate child and he brought a real edge and genuine comedy to the film. The collection comes in a regular 4-DVD box, rather than the nice fold-out sleeve pictured, which seems a bit of a cop-out on the presentation front. Content extrmely good, as we know, the films are great entertainment, and the extras aren't half-bad either. The film quality is better than mentioned by one of the other reviews, looking particularly good on a sharp LCD screen. Don't expect it to perform on HD, but that's the beauty of those new TVs, they make your old films look worse so you buy them again...a lovely bit of self-marketing. In short, if you have a regular telly, don't worry about the picture quality, it looks just as you'd expect it to. Well worth a purchase if you don't have these films. Two thumbs ... Read More:

I think jussic park 1 is the best dont buy the 3rd film cause the 3rd film lacks

I'm a sci-fi fan so my comments are biased but I thoroughly enjoyed this mini-series. I would recommend it to viewers who like films of a weird/otherworldy/supernatural quality. Definitely not down-to-earth stuff but then the characters are quite real and believable.

I had this film on video tape, and it has been watched, and loaned out to friends so many times, it's worn out. So, I had to but the DVD!!!!!!!!!!! The special edition DVD is fascinating because if you already love the film, you are given an insight into the mind of the writer. I also loved watching the interview with the composer, being a keen piano player. The film is quite dark, dramatic and moody and the music is beautiful, matching perfectly the whole feel of the movie. Oh, and Holly Hunter actually plays the piano! Buy it!You won't be disappointed.

This has been my favorite film since it came out in 1999. As well as being one of the first dvds to hit the home screen it was also the first movie that captured my imagination. It has my favorite actor in it -Robin Williams who manages to create a character that has many angles. he uses his brilliant performance to deliver a robot that can merely do more than house work but that can also plant a real question inside someone- what makes you different and what makes you human...
