This film i initially felt would be acomplete flop as so many other "best since private ryan warfilms are", however it was unexpectedly good. On the first watching it seemed a little of the stereotypical warfilms. But i decided to give it another chance albeit when i was more in the mood. I was astonished, as in the case of saints and soldiers, how good this film is when you watch it attentivley. The battles are good and the looks on the seemingly amateur actors faces, particularly Yassir who shows fear so well, made it very good to feel how a soldier would almost panick stricken. saw this film with my dad,not even 18 cans of carlsberg could make it watchable. definately the worst war film ive ever watched

This is the first in the Taxi Trilogy by Luc Besson. It is a great fun film, with good action sequences, great French comedy and a decent script. Oh, and the Germans end up look silly :) Although not as good as Taxi-2, I would still definitely recommend purchasing this film.

I have to agree with the positive comments made by the other reviewers. Its a frantic battle for survival for a rag tag bunch of petty thieves, french special forces and a few factory workers who fall under siege from a vicious Albanian criminal and his high tech forces. It's an enjoyable romp with elements of assault on precinct 13 and it's a nice change from the similar genre hollywood churns out by the dozen.

Hollywood certainly does not, testament to this would be the 2004 hideous rehash involving Queen Latifa and some Swedish orientated girls performing the heist. The reason why the remake is so damned awful, is that Americans do not understand the subtlties of European humour, failing to realise that slap stick and obvious ploys to get women dressed in next to nothing do not work, nor does the ebonical slang that haunts many a film, spoken from stereotypical aggressive blacks. Anywho...I don't own many comedy films in the film collection, often the formula is repetitive, and certain films can only be endured a handful of times before coming tiresome, and placed in the back of ones collection to gather dust, to be left there until the time ... This film is a great illustration of why it made no difference if France fought or not in WW2. Good quality in blu ray but that is all that was good about this movie.

If your a lover of the Taxi films then your gonna love this, Taxi 4 was released in France last year a whole ten years after the first movie hit the screens and their still hitting top gear. Admittedly my favourite Taxi movie is number two, that one topped the first installment and even though number three was good it didn't beat the second one. Now the gang is back once again for another crazy story involving almost the entire cast. (no lilly at all, even though her parents are in this). This movie is based a few years on from the last one as we left them in number three with emillien just becoming a father and our speedfreak hero Daniel finding out Lilly is also pregnant, making them focus on having to grow up and take on real ... This is probably one of my favourite films of all time. I have watched more times than I can count and will often pester my friends to watch it with me. It is even better than its prequel, with an updated car and the script is even better!! The action sequences are great fun too. Definitely one to be purchased and watched over and over again!
