This is a movie to be enjoyed by all Cash fans. The two main actors give very good performances including the songs. I thought the portrayal of June Carter to be particularly attractive. Of course much is condensed from the real biography and at times I was glad I had some knowledge of it to understand the film. Similarly, while the songs were fine, the spoken dialogue was often unclear to me so i was glad I knew the basic story. It is a good portrayal of a troubled, turbulent great talent. Now I want to go and play the songs again.

There's not a lot to say that hasn't already been said here! I knew very little about Cash besides the fact that he died not long ago and a friend is a huge fan of his music. However I was interested enough to want to see the movie and intrigued to see Reese W live out her childhood dream of being a country singer. Wow. It's a long movie but I hardly noticed. Some really truly great acting from both leads - a magnificent supporting cast. A compelling, dramatic, and moving story of redemption. Of necessity the film focuses on a relatively short period of Cash and Carter's life and the genesis of their relationship, but it whets the appetite to find out more about the man and his music.
