Why do women put on lip-gloss? Answers can include but are not limited only to: it makes them look biger, shiner, smooth and if used daily, it can become habit forming. Footballers Wives is 'lip-gloss applied, tabloid soaked television.' It is exuberant and definately a trashy poke at the immoratlity of the beautiful game itself, only its main focus of attention centres mainly arround the women, and football is more like a sub-plot. Everything is bigger, better and done in utter distaste. Tanya (played by celebrity Chav Zoe Lucker) takes charge with her shameless and often outrageous behaviour. sexy rich and powerfull, the footballers wives is a compelling series that has you reaching for the remote and clicking the next episode, if you havent watched footballers wives before i would recommend watching teh first series first as it does follow on and can be confussing to peopel not familiar to the story, great for girly nights in in front of the tv, funny, shocking, sexy and thought provoking enjoy.

Season 5 was officially the last season since ITV pulled the plug on the series shortly afterwards.Funnily enough, unlike another female-based series such as 'Sex and the City', Footballers Wives actually gained momentum with each new installment. Some scenes are really tacky such as Amber praying to Buddha (Symbol of Peace) and invoking the name of Kali (The Goddess of Death). Some resemblance to real life characters as indicated below; Liberty - Naomi Campbell Paulo Bardosa - Cristiano Ronaldo Tremaine Gidigbi- Sol Campbell Garry Ryan - David Sullivan Callum Watson - Wayne Rooney I didn't like Liberty's character and felt that Phina Oruche was miscast together with Chucky Venice (Tremaine).
