Having watched this on BBC1 recently, I thought it worth a second look and so bought this DVD. It's a great series with really good acting and as long as you suspend reality for some of the time, a good watch.

Before I begin may I just compliment Amazon for it's amazing service. Not only is this dvd fantastic value (being four movies for £4.98) Amazon also had it shipped to me here in Ireland within two days. So if you're one of those people who used to be like me and afraid of online shopping I urge you take the chance and start today. You won't be disappointed. Okay first things first. I am a bloke. The first time I saw this film I had an upset tummy on a Friday. Since going out was obviously off, I was lying on the couch under the duvet trying to find something to watch on TV.Geez a soppy girl comedy was my first thought when it started. And then Debra Messing appeared, WOW! my tummy might not have been working properly but there was nothing wrong with my hormones. She is beautiful and she is lovely in this film. So many nice moments to choose from, for me when she awakes on the plane and is a beautiful mess, the bathroom scene when the escort is showering,the car scene,so many to choose from. Brilliant script, superb acting, fun song and dance routines and of course David Tennant at his witty, sexy, gorgeous, brooding best. Personally I could have done without some of the musical numbers but that's just nit-picking. I have watched this DVD over and over again (great for filling in a couple of hours on a wet afternoon when you've got a pile of ironing to do!). I don't think I'll ever tire of the scene where he tells Sarah Parrish 'all the things we won't do.' Wonderful stuff.

Loved this programme- great characters, good music and silly love triangles. Okay, it was always very unrealistic, but it was really entertaining also. This series.... not one of the best, but still good. Worth adding to your collection I reckon.

Series 4 was great - very moving with some fab acting from Sarah. However i'm not sure a 5th series with so many of the integral characters missing would work......i'd still have to watch it just to see though!

I received the box-set but disc one of series one had episodes 4-6 on it despite being labelled as having episodes 1-3. Therefore half of series 1 is missing from the set. Amazon have been really good about it and refunded my money because they are unable to supply a replacement. I would be careful ordering this and make sure you check the discs as soon as you receive them to ensure you have all the correct episodes. I note someone else had the same problem so maybe an early version was defective?

TV drama at its best, and clever into the bargain. I only rented this because I wasn't sure, from what I had read, what I would make of it. Now I've added it to my wishlist! It's a bit of an odd concept - gritty northern drama meets musical meets murder investigation meets comedy - but it's very very well done, with a brilliant cast. Morrissey is, as someone else has said, born to play this role; sleazy but compelling, by halfway through the first episode I very much wanted to see how he would turn out. A performance that makes what could have been a bit of a one-trick-pony character into a complex and interesting man, for whom, in spite of everything, one still has compassion. This is must buy for anyone who is in business and not just the hairdressing trade. I'm not a massive fan of soapy dramas but Cutting It really got me hooked. I enjoyed the series personally for Business Rivalry which I as a businessman can relate to. The story begins with Business partners and husband/ wife Allie Hensall and Gavin Ferraday running a successful and well built up hair salon in Central manchester with Allie's family been half the staff. Fantastic acting from Sarah Parish and Jason Merrells who really hold the whole series together giving the viewer the twists and turns of the two major characters which give the series it's root.
